I do drive. All I can afford at the moment are shit cars though. Second hand Toyota's and such..
( mate corollas are a good buy for the 1-2K )
Man i thought i was being obvious and making a generalised presumptuous statement. It was meant as an example, not as an insult or instigation.. purely to show how rude it is to presume, when you don't know anything about people. I stereotyped you as a child, and you stood up for yourself instantly. I was using what is called Socratic Irony.
Again, unless you specifically state where I'm wrong, I'm not too clear on what your getting at, anyone can just rant directionless quotes from grandiose wiki claiming their smarter.. I didn't say anything about a 60 year old political mindset. I simply said Germans, have been suppressed, meaning now they feel liberated being the point, not when communistic dictatorship stated or initial plummets in Germany's factory industry in the late 1800s. I honestly find it clutching at strings as an argument. Stop masquerading around the facts.
100% truth is, there wasnt a single derogatory term the world had for Germans until the Holocaust. And apart from the Nazi faciasts no sensible person hates a German for anything, they have always been an asset to the world as a major trade and an asset to technolocial advancement to say the least. No government wants trade disputes with countrys that improtant.. One thing about being a Nazi back then, was conscription .. Soldiers wern't asked to fight in the 1920's they were made to, or you had to run and hide, or make yourself unfit for duty. I bet half the nazi soldiers who died hated what they had to do from day 1. The real trouble makers are on the run still die luckily or suicided. Look, times were in turmoil, Red Propaganda was rife, and im sure being fed that week, was pretty convincing the faciasts would fix things. And they did, really really quickly too. I personally would go Kooter Brown. ( The act of keeping yourself totally intoxicated purposefully avoiding war, until its over )
The discussion isn't some open-ended conversation, you cant make generalisations or argue stereotypes, as that would make it (this) go forever.
Stereotypes exist for one reason , and that is revelant over-joyous ignorance. They are not developed by an understanding or educated culture, its a means of degradation.
And again, they ( Germans ) actually did a pretty good job of making reparations of WWII, (here come the flames again) anybodies parents or grandparents receive a pension from Germany if you worked in the concentration camps like we did. ( as a prisoner not officer ) Unlike Howard failing to admit his ancestors may have been wrong and apologising, costing nothing. Germany have now put themselves in billions of dollars worth of debt in war reparations, and are hunting down every last living Nazi.
So again would you consider their mind set as a generalisation of the culture? I guarantee there are more people involved with love parade and determined to make right of the wrongs of previous "elected" leaders, than people who slightly fit ANY "Germanic" political stereotype.
In the end it is ONLY VERY SO OFTEN you find a culture that is so different, you may consider them different enough, or assimilate situations with a race. Its 99.9% of the time a family based culture, trying to survive, country/ economy falls poor, needs to elect a leader who will make serious changes, Dictators come in, and the whole country gets stereotyped for something they had no control of. Think about the word "understanding" , Its the almost opposite of what a stereotyped mindset is.
eg: A stereotype is a simplified and/or standardized conception or image with specific meaning, often held in common by members of a group. A stereotype can be a conventional and oversimplified conception, opinion, or image. Stereotypes can range from those that are wildly inaccurate and negative to those that are more than a little bit true and may even shed positive light upon the group of individuals. They are typically generalizations based on minimal or limited knowledge about a group to which the person doing the stereotyping does not belong.
My great uncle was assassinated by the Nazis, half of my family got sent to Siberia, which they are still in close to 80 years later. Our city's are STILL in ruins and dirt floors are all they have in lower class Poland. My Grandpa had to wear a potato sak with a big red P on the front so the Nazis knew know to kill "those" Polish for fun. If a Pole can love the Germans and forgive them why cant some MTV kid?
Because their the enemy in video games and in movies, like the Russians, and every hero needs a villain.
That's my opinion. Just like many other cultures what have fought and killed massive amounts of the population, the Australian government for example under English command and rule basically extinguished Native Australians from Tasmania, it is considered Genocide, yet nobody mentions it. Because Aussies aren't villains and never will be in entertainment..

Lastly, I wouldn't describe my posts as smoke and mirrors. That's giving me too much credit... More like somebody who's out of his depth but enjoys learning from other people's opinions and ideas. Occasionally the only way to do that is by smashing my head against the keyboard until a coherent sentence emerges.
Me too man.. I don't mean to be rude at all, trust me flecco, ill get you liken me sooner or later, Ja just gotta push some people to get em thinking and speaking sensibly ( hell look at my ufc thread i did
)..
I just feel annoyed when anybody gets picked on and to be honest, i find it more constructive to have given people here today some new idiot to spew on,( me that is) than to curse unjustly at a whole race and culture who just wanna get on with shit, and obviously don't have a voice here to keep it fair either. It did seem pretty obvious SOME people wanted the outcome to be Nazi or some other ignorant based opinion related. Until somebody did defend them there was little sensible conversation here.
