So I was planning to buy a new 15" Subwoofer and I need a good amp for it.
Something with a good price and preformance!
I hope that someone of you soldiers play with these toys and could give me any good suggestions???

well I know a great company, their stuff usually blows bigger name brands out the water. Only problem is they dont usually deliver outside the UK, but they say they can if you contact them. Here's what I mean, huge power subwoofer, amp, enclosure and wiring kit for almost £500 quid lesss than their usual, thousands less than bigger brands.

All the stuff in my car is from them, its great build quality and they have great customer service.

here's what I mean:

To all the people with unhelpful responses, kindly get lost. If people wanna have a good audio experience in their car, what skin is it off your back.

Yeah, they have an 8000W sub amp, designed to power 3 of those 12" subs. Mental.  I like they way they do those kits, it means you know your gonna have everything you need to set it up. So you had any further thoughts on what you might get? I think you'll be amazingly hard pushed to find an amp for less than the price of that whole kit. just under £300

Are you talking infinite baffle, tuned port or some other design for your enclosure ?
These matter when choosing a bass unit.

Also, I don't care what anyone says, you don't need more than 200 watts.
Anything over 200 is just a bigger number and is pointless in a car on one speaker.

200W is absolutely nothing for a bass speaker. Might as well not have one.

You can get enclosures that incorporate both ported and sealed enclosures. Just by changing one screw plate

edit: were you talking rms or max?

Yeh, fantastic. My 720w surround sound sounds fantastic in my room, and that's overkill.

You do not need 1000w +.

That's complete bollocks.

I meant RMS.
Do you even know what it means without using Google ?

So when you fit a 2000 watt system, what size alternator do you need to fit ?

lol RMS is simply the average power across the speaker. Well 200W RMS is more understandable, I took it that you were talking about max, which I'm sure you'll agree isn't much. My bad.

I have no idea what size alternator you need, neither do I care, when I need to I can simply research it.

Also @ fatherted, there's much greater sound loss in a car, which is generally why people have more powerful audio systems in their car than their room.

Wait so your powering 2x1000W off an 800W amp? Isn't that a bit pointless? Still pretty damn loud though

No m8 it''s not pointless, you won't blow your speakers.

Whenever I build speakers, I always put in a lower rated crossover.
That way the cheapest part blows first.

EDIT: I'm going to bed now.

A 3w speaker I found in an old compaq blew my 500w amp... FUcking shorted out piece of shit.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
