You mentioned you were forgetting something: possibly a physics processor?  i.e. BFG Ageia PhysX Physics Card.  Of course if you're trying to get good performance with a minimal budget, maybe you shouldn't worry about this.  Nonetheless, it's another option.

Edit: and if you still have any doubts about when to purchase all of your components, I would DEFINITELY wait.  You'll be able to get a much more powerful computer setup for much less.  Just wanted to reiterate this.  If you're worried about the chance passing up, ask for the cash, or maybe a newegg gift cert. on Christmas, so that you know you'll have the funds for later.

So I got about 1500$ to build a computer, maybe I can go up to 2000$, not sure. Anyways, I used to pay attention to tech stuff, stopped that about a year ago, cant remember much. Im looking for a computer that will last, I wanna get a good CPU, PSU, case, motherboard, and probably RAM, dont wanna end up having to replace these things for at least a year and a half, I realize that video cards usually have to replaced more often, Id really rather put it off as much as possible.

Id love to play Crysis maxed out, while I know that is impossible with pretty much every computer, I heard there are ways you can self optimize the game easily or something like that. Either way, I want the best I can get for my money, and since the only thing Ill probably be able to to replace will be the GPU and the RAM, I want the rest to have good qualities, last me 1-3 years.

PS: Im a Intel and nVidia fanboi.

PSS: Just to clear things up, Ill do this again:

CPU: Intel, one that will last and be powerful.
PSU: Powerful one, dont wanna have to worry about this.
Case: No need for a PSU as I am buying this separately, dont care what it looks like, preferably good cooling in it.
GPU: nVidia, powerful, I am willing to sacrifice on this to keep within budget, would really rather not though, it will be at least a year before I can get a better one, must be DX10.
RAM: At least 2GB, probably more like 4 if thats recommended, I also doubt I will be able to upgrade this for a year or so.
Sound Card:Not sure if this is really needed, guess I can drop this, if it can be fit in budget then thats good, I heard this improves the performance as the CPU or something like that doesnt have to do the sound.
Motherboard:Something that can hold all this stuff....
Monitor: Flat Screen, LCD, 17 inch is fine, 19 is great, doesnt really matter which, I sit close to screen.
Operating System: XP or Vista, what should I get? Can XP support DX10?

I get the feeling Im forgeting something, sorry. Well, help would be much appreciated, I give much <3 to people who help.
I can help you with the monitor!

Highly recommended seems a understatement, probably will get that one, just really starting to wonder about the price, trying to shave stuff off where ever I can, for a good 19in flat screen that isnt wide scree, how much would I probably be able to save?

Go widescreen to be honest, it needs getting used to but is way more comfortable in the end. 4:3 is getting outdated.

For a HD I would recommend the Seagate Barracuda 7200.100. It loads up BF2 really fast for me and is a pretty decent drive. http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=320709

I would say best is the Raptor X as it out performs most HD's. I never say the barracuda is the best but certainly isn't the worst.

I wasn't counting the 10000 RPM beasts. I was talking about general use HDDs. There is nothing better than the Samsung Spinpoint. Just go onto Tomshardware.com and you will see that.

Ah K. I wish I had a Raptor though. There class.

Intel E6750= $189.99
Evga 680i= $199.99
Evga 8800gt= $289.99
PC Power and Cooling 750w PSU= $169.99
Crucial Ballistix 2gb DDR2 800 = $75.00
Thermaltake Armour = $169.99
2x Seagate 320gb SATA Hard Drives = $140.00ish
You can find a cheap 19" widescreen for about $170 nowadays.
Then spend a hundred or so on a dvd drive, keyboard, gaming mouse.  I use onboard sound with a headset most of the time so i don't need a bomb ass speaker system with sound card.  if you can do without that then this is roughly a $1700 rig minus the shipping.  but watch for neweggs deals on free shipping every now and then.  This is just an idea for you.  if you budget was $2000 then i left you some room for say a quad core, or 2 more gigs of ram.  the case is by no means the best out there, but it's a full tower and will allow proper cooling and expansion if you need the room (think sli with another 8800gt if your feeling spunky)  The psu i picked out should pack enough juice for that and then some.

Isnt there better cards then the 8800GTS? I kinda thought I would at least be able to fit a GTX in at under 2 grand.
Did you read properly? The NEW G92 GTS... Not the old one... Jeez, speak before you read. The new one outperforms the GTX and the ULTRA.
actually no, the G92 will be better than the current GT and old GTS's but not better than the Ultra or GTX. Nvidia isn't that dumb.
