god, these things are happening with such frighteningly increasing frequency. It's obviously contagious... one misguided kid becomes the hero for another...

Yeah, but lets keep restricting guns as much as possible that way innocent people dont have a way to defend themselves in cases like this.
(not a direct bash to you idk your views but im looking at you anti-gunners)
Colorado is firmly entrenched in gun culture, and unfortunately, it looks like a number of gun owning parents aren't being careful enough to keep their guns out of the hands of their frustrated children. They need to spend more time with their kids so that these things won't happen.
There's obviously a disconnect going on somewhere between issues kids face and what their parents know about.
If you're gonna talk about how much you love guns, how about giving them to responsible people in high risk areas so that these things don't happen. You don't give a shit about safety of the country or anything. You just want guns so you can shoot little animals and shoot random things on the range. Pfft.
The King of England could so easily come and reclaim America under your current mentality.
Please keep the anti-gun bullshit out of this thread. Kthxbye. We don't even know the circumstances and this was not a "high risk area". Also we do care about the safety of our country. If these folks had guns, they'd have been able to defend themselves. Again, who would think someone would want to kill a missionary?

then let me counter quite directly. So what, we just give the churchgoers guns? And teachers? And fellow students? And shoppers? And pilots, and cooks, and moviegoers... There is absolutely no way to justify your point. If guns were completely unrestricted, I'd bet maybe one or two of the victims from these and the mall shootings would have been carrying, and I would guarantee that in the same time span, there would be far more people dead by gunshot than those who saved themselves. If you think differently, you're freakishly ignorant.
edit: and I know this is supposed to be funny, but give everyone guns, and shit like this could happen.
edit 2: and I don't mean literally like that, but imagine the scene at the mall. Someone walks in, pulls out a gun. 4 people see him and whip out guns. 10 more see them, have no idea who started it, and people start shooting whoever they think is "the bad guy."
Prayers and condolences for the families of the victims and survivors.

Because this has happened how many times? I have yet to hear of a situation like this. Start a new thread for the gun control discussion!
