2142 bug..

When I had a 6600GT, I was told by This site that I couldn't play BF2142. Now I've got a new card, 7600 GT and the same bug happens.

I log into my account, then try to choose a soldier and it shuts down to desktop.

What's happening, and does anyone have any solutions?

Yes, Yes.
Just got the Gfx card today, and had 2142 on computer since old gfx card, patched as well.

System specs are: 2.4 Ghz pentium 4, 760mb RAM, 7600 GT

Well, if you had the same bug too last time, I'd say reinstall BF 2142, and repatch it. If that doesn't work it could be that the 7600 isn't supported either (although that's unlikely to me).

Aww, fucks sake, I just re-read the link and realised that BF2142 isn't supported by 7600GT, I thought the ones listed were NOT supported. Fucking gutted.

I wonder how I managed to play 100 hours of BF2142 then if the 7600GT isnt supported, since I have one.

EDIT: Try adding this to the command line of the game, if it isnt there allready ''+menu 1 +fullscreen 1'' (Without the quationmarks)

and disable EAX, but seeing that you can't even log into with your soldier I don't think thats it.

To sum it up a bit you can:
-Reinstall and repatch the entire game as BF2 and BF2142 do not like changing of hardware
-Disable EAX sound or something
-Custom Guru3D drivers
-And other shit. Now go read the topic

On the shortcut for launching the game I presume. Right click it, select properties and add that to the target field. It should then look like:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1
The 2142 bit would be different as thats the target for my BF2 shortcut except I put in 2142 instead of 2
