good idea. 2.6 AMDs should be enough for everything
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

I have a 3.0GHz quad core, and truthfully I don't notice any difference to my old opty 170 (dual core AMD) @ 3.0 or @ 2.7 (depending on overclock) on games.

You should've given up when he showd the screenshot. It's a god damn Dell! Dells are made to remain unchanged for their whole life.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

You have no idea what you're dealing with. This is an AUSTRALIAN Dell. The same brand that up until April was still selling 256MB shared with graphics. Then they thought, "Hey, Vista doesn't like this at all!"

Wow. When I thought Dell couldn't get any lower.

Would resetting your CMOS open up those functions?
Or flashing your BIOS?

It's risky, but if you really wanna OC your computer, you might have to.
sometimes, but rarely Dell uses asus motherboards with their own bios. Then you are able to reflash to the asus on to open up all sorts of options. But I would only do it if you really know what you are doing.
...As in, you'll definitely have to repair windows if you flash your BIOS at this point. Not like that's hard, but still, if it aint broke, don't "fix" it

Don't overclock until you have a decent air/water cooling system set up on your cpu and a good enough PSU.
