I just wanted to hear the pros here on bf2s!

I have a 8800GTS and i dont think it runs that good in Crysis, and i have some guy who wants to buy it,
but the question is should i sell it and and get another card, or should i get a 8800GTS more, for SLI?
Will it give me a decent performarance boost in Crysis and other games?

My desktop specs are

CPU e6750 Intel
4 gigs of ram
and vista

Thats what i can remember, im not sitting on the desktop atm..

Any help would be much appreciated THX

And please dont reply OMFG uninstall vista..

My 2 gts's run fine in sli. I haven't tried a single gts yet but if you wanted a new card I would make that decision yourself.

Get a G92 8800gts 512mb card... it's just as good if not better than the gtx at $200 less...

Get the fuck out.

And Dr.PhiL, I think your best choice would be to keep your 8800 GTS for now and wait until the 9 series comes. It's better to get a new card with a huge jump in performance instead of a small (yet significant) one i.e. the 8800 G82 GTS/GT.

OMG HAI2U ELITE UK, u wanna get pwned in CoH, add me my nick in their is "NiggerPlease" Murda here btw

Anyway back on topic, i cant run it on "Very High" settings with one 8800GTS 640mb, so would be able to with 2 of them in SLI?
I only run it in a resolution of 1280x1024...

And will it give me a good performarance boost in other games aswell ?

Yes, it'll give you a performance boost, but it's really not worth it. I can barely run Crysis on very high either and I have an OC'd 8800 GTX.

Seriously. Wait for the 9 series.

Yes, but that part was extremely ignorant.

QFE

Even the  8800gt(overclocked) runs Crysis like shit, IMO. Just wait for the next GPU series and better Nvidia drivers.

Crysis is the game that is bringing everything to it's knees.  I just saw a review of 3 x 8800 Ultras in triple SLI, and even then it only managed 38 FPS at 1920x1200 with Very High settings.  Even if you SLI with your GTS, you aren't going to get sufficient performance to run Very High.  Try dropping back to DX9 mode.

Indeed, its kind of the Doom3 scenario all over again, finially them 8800s have been brought down, but while we wait for 9, I wouldnt bother running it on anything above medium-high to be honest.

I've seen even data to understand where he's coming from. Vista may not break your computer in 2 unless it has 8000 dollars worth of hardware, but it does toll a significant margin of performance.

A huge impact on performance is what most overlook, resolution. Drop that slider a few notches and performance skyrockets on the same AA/F settings.

If you are running Vista you can right-click on the .exe file that launches the game and select to run in XP compatible mode.  That will put it in DX9.

EXACTLY!

Dropping the res boosts performance immensely. I was running on 1680x1050 - then dropped to 1440x900, what an amazing difference. Suddenly I was able to turn shaders and postprocessing up to very high and stick on 4x AA maintaining the the same FPS I had running all meds with high shaders - needless to say it looks way better.
