THOUSANDS of British doctors are quitting the NHS to find work in India . . . where hospitals are better equipped and bug free.

The private Apollo hospital in Delhi is receiving five job applications a week from medics.

Half of its 3,000 consultants are from Britain.

Doctors — many originally from India — say they are moving because of the state-of-the-art equipment, higher health standards and better quality of life.

Indian hospitals also suffer far less from infections.

One doctor said: “The hospitals are better. Where I work is spotless. In the UK many hospitals are more than 100 years old.”

I wouldn't be surprised. The NHS was and always is a showcase for disaster. Remember folks, full nationalised healthcare doesn't work.

It costs the NHS £200k to put each student through med school, with home students paying only £12k and foreign students about £100k. So yes the NHS makes a huge loss everytime a doctor leaves (and its not just India, US and Australia get a pretty large influx too), but so many doctors are churned out every year I can't see it ever becoming a problem.

That being said you'd think some of these graduates would have the conscience to stay and repay the community somewhat before thy left...

They probably have a shortage in India since all their doctors came to the US.
