Logitech Precision Headset

I got a logitech precision headset for my PC for crimbo. After the initial plug size problems (solved with an adapter) i finally got it all in and running.

I can hear fine through it and the microphone is now working in windows and I can hear the mic directly through the headphones (which has a rather annoying echo effect at times).

however the main reason I bougt it was for VOIP but it wont detect it in game. I have run the microphone setup thing and the sound level bar detects me speaking but once in game it wont work. Anyone got any ideas what may be stopping it?

The soundcard is a DMX fire 660 (i do some mixing and recording with my PC).

Someone I know had the same problem with their Zalman Theatre 6 headphones, I bought and pair it worked alright, now his do too, I have no idea whats wrong.

I assume you setup the mic properly within BF2? I think it's under the 'Options/Audio' tab.

I had a similar problem with my Turtle beach x-51 set. I had to exit BF2, replug in my headset, then restart BF2. Then set the microphone prior to jumping into a game. Threshold adjustment, then I was able to hear and people weren't constantly telling me to turn up the mic.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I know that the headset's gotta be USB to work on BF2. Mine's a Logitech too, in fact is the original USB SOCOM for the PS2 and it works perfectly, since the first time I plugged it in. Get a USB one from a friend or someone and try it, should work.

I too have the precision, and I too have the same problems. Yet I have tried everything and still they say they can barely hear me.... VERY AGGREVATING!!!!!!! So I have perhaps missed it, did you say yours now works?

sorry but you're wrong. i have a $10 pair of Radio Shack headphones with mic. they plug right into my audio jacks in the front of case. it works/sounds perfectly fine. so the headphones do not have to be USB.
