holy shit!
But you know it won't ever go into production, the Big Oil company's will sabotage it somehow...

It wont go into production because it's useless, crash that into anything bigger than a peddle bike and you'll die, only 2 seats, probably no storage, and you can get a Tesla roadster that does the same range per charge and goes a lot faster + looks like a car not a tricycle from the Jetsons

$30k!?

That's like... £50! OMG I'm so getting one.

A zero-cargo tricycle with 1% passenger survival in a wreck is going to take over the highways? I think not. Big oil needn't lift a finger. Besides, it looks like a sperm. Jetsons-style my ass.

Erm, no it's about £15 lol. Still crap though.

Stylings aside, I would be interested to see crash test results. From an intro video I watched, it actually sounded pretty safe.

However, the real thing to latch onto here is not so much this particular car, but the idea that real cars are starting to hit market in affordable price ranges which absolutely blow the BigGuys cars out of the water in terms of performance and innovation. Style can come as it will (tesla got this going, but they are toooo expensive still)

I would wager that in 10-15 years, they may not look like this, but these WILL be the cars you see on the road.

Shit, the Sinclair C5 didn't catch on, why should this?

Cars are for lugging cargo and going long distances, if your fancy electric crap won't do that, I'll stick to cycling.

I'm guessing that pessimist guy and newbie13 didn't even WATCH the video. Because like Jeff said, the guy went into detail the safety features and the construction of the frame to protect it against impacts.

So, I ask the question, why do you two guys post when you don't know anything? Too joke? Or, is that your way of submitting your opinion on alternative fuel efficient vehicles? That you dislike them and thing they are of low-quality and unsafe?

Put some effort into your post next time

Say that to the guy who is putting his life's work into the production of the vehicle. I imagine its better then anything you can consider doing. Have some respect for these entrepreneurs.

That's a really nice idea. Whenever I thought about a hybrid car it was always engine/motor. A small generator to refill the batteries of an already electric car is ingenious.

I think an assumption for both of us is fair then

Look at that car. Unless it's made out of titanium with transparent aluminum windows, you can tell me that it can climb walls, but it'd still crush like a maggot. You can have all the bars and fold-under profiles you want, but it's not going to save you. Besides which, once you made several trips to the grocery store in the same day because you couldn't fit everything in there, you might as well have driven a regular gas car for all the electricity you blew.

I'll be more interested when they show a prototype that can actually haul cargo and survive in wrecks of > 10mph.

Outside of "My car should be a tank" type circles, there is a real, large, and true market for cars that go from a -> b without the need of carrying a small army. I know that THOUSANDS of people commute into and out of San Francisco (and loads of other major cities around the world) every single work day and could easily use this to replace their honda's and other such putters which probably do just as poorly against the aforementioned tanks in collisions.

Additionally, you can fit plenty into the car ... for comparison:

"Stupid Car":

has 15.9 cubic feet of space.

Yep.

Edit: 3 wheels is inherently less stable than 4 wheels.

Ok then it's great, it's the perfect car for any normal road user, lots of storage for your shopping, plenty of seats for your family and it goes at an amazing what? 90MHP for those speed freaks, crackin stuff, the Tesla roadster is an example of great design this is another failed attempt to go on the pile of the 50 or so others, like that Honda solar powered car and the like.

As for the boot having more cubic footage of space compared to a BMW, look at the shape, it looks 60% un-usable, a small golf bag would shatter the window when you closed the boot.

And at the saftly features bit I couldn't bare watching, soon as he pointed out the force of a frontal collision was directed down, under the chassis I just gave up, basically you're going to get lifted up and thrown through the air in your wee, super lightweight plastic box and crash (probably roof first) into the ground.

Chuy chimes in and sets the table straight. Now, until we see some crash tests I guess that part is up for debate. But when you see those dicks driving around in a hummer H1/H2/H3/Big waste of metal, are we suppose to buy one the same just to feel save against them? I'd rather have this car, and being the cautious law abiding driver I am, take the risk. I've avoided crashes before thanks to my awareness of other idiots.

You know what...

I'd actually buy one, I would.

Because the money I'd save on petrol would be astronomical.

I don't drive for shits n giggles, I drive to get from a to b, and don't care what im driving.

Your BMW is raped by a sperm-shaped tricycle. But it would be interesting to see what would happen in a fishtail scenario on a San Francisco commute at 60mph.

It would also be interesting to see the price tag if this thing broke down. Or if you hit a bump and the electronics shock absorber didn't quite save your LCD rear-view system.

1.  Why are they dicks for having a stoutly built vehicle?
2.  No, you don't have to buy one and be just as safe if you don't want to.  Guess everyone should buy tiny cars and be equally at risk if a collision occurs.
3.  If you buy a tiny car to save gas, you take the risk of being compacted like a tin can if someone hits you in any kind of car, not just an suv.

Which is why I am constantly seeing them in mechanics' garages.

Or buy a Tesla, 120MPG sports car FTW about 100k USD though, not bad for a car that does 0-60MHP in 4 seconds though

Yes, I am going to keep mentioning it.

EDIT:

This is a proper electric car, 100 miles more range than that rolling sperm thing too.

Clarkson did find one use for Diesels (apart from dropping them on caravans).
