Wouldnt waste your time, there too expensive for what they are, and proper 'gaming' grade laptops are neither portable or affordable.

Toshiba antec A8 will do, I have one intel core2duo 4 gig ram and 512 ATI graph.. can play games and run my cad software very nice.

Nah. Try to get a T7500 CPU. *Or a T7200 (I think it's 72 anyway).
And 2 GB of RAM is essential for Vista, games or not.

$7000? That's ridiculous, unless you're talking about Voodoo/FalconNW/etc. notebooks. A top of the line Clevo/Sager will maybe cost about $3-4k. (Still damn expensive, but not $7k.)bf2gammer wrote:

If you absolutely want/need a notebook that'll do some gaming, the one you chose out will suffice. The 7900Go is a decent card, but I find that Toshiba tends to put in decent GPUs but subpar CPUs. However, there are some other things that you may wish to take into consideration.
If you're moving around a lot with your notebook, I'd say go with a smaller form factor. 15.4" or below. 14" is an ideal size IMO, but you'll usually be sacrificing some graphics power. Second, what kind of games are you looking to play? The 8600m GT will play most games right now, even Crysis, albeit lower settings and FPS.
So I'd say go with a Dell Inspiron/Vostro 1520/1500 (respectively), they're pretty damn cheap for what kind of hardware you can get with it. It's a bit bulky compared to some other notebooks in the same range, but it'll be less of a hassle to carry around than any 17". Plus, you'll be able to get in a fair bit of gaming since that seems to be your main focus for a notebook.

Games i'm looking to play are the modern battlefield series(2, 2142), orange box, and oblivion.
Size doesn't matter, as long as it's portable.

Edit: Vostro's Proccessor is better, Its a T7500, Satelite was T5600. Vostro has 2 gb of RAM, Satelite has 1gb, but I can add some more.

Vostro:$1200

I think you can customize a Dell 1520/1500 with the T7250 (2.00Ghz) and 8600mGT for ~$1000. I believe the Vostro comes out cheaper initially, but there are Dell Coupons that might be able to bring the price down for the Inspiron. Both are essentially the same notebook, the Vostro is just all black. I think they're decent choices.
Off the top of my head, I believe the 7900 Go GTX is better. Hold on, I'll try to find out. I'm quite sure that the 7900 Go is better. Just looking at the specs, the 8600m is crippled by the 128-bit interface, whereas the 7900 Go's are 256-bit.Final Question:

Personally, I'd go for the Vostro or Inspiron because it seems to be the best of both worlds. Pretty portable, and pretty powerful. Just seems to have the best balance IMO. It really all comes down to what you want.
