I have one important update for my computer, and it just will not install.  I've tried refreshing my computer, then attempting to install, dosen't work.  Tried installing right before computer shutdown, still dosen't work.  I've gone through all the help guides and whatnot, tried everything, and still dosen't work.  I get "error 80070002" when I try to install.  I looked up the helpfile for that, did what it suggested, but the update just will not install.

I'm running Windows Vista.

Help / Suggestions, anyone?

Is it a new computer or did it recently have hardware changes?  That's what happened to me when I had some hardware changed, you have to reactivate Vista after every significant hardware change or else it slowly takes away your functions until it doesn't work at all.

I haven't installed anything major lately.  No new hardware, besides a printer and scanner.  And that was awhile ago, and Windows Update has been acting up fairly recently.

Make sure "office source engine" startup type is set to Automatic. If it is stopped, enable it, then try running the update again.
