well yesterday actually. everything went well, so i am extremely happy. he had to have the same thing done last year around christmas time, and they found more shit growing back a few months ago. last time, it was benign. we still won't know if this one is cancerous or not for a few more days though. anyone else had parents/relatives/friends go through anything like this?
pics or it didn't happen.
on a serious note I do hope he gets better.

Dear God please let my karma one day reach 100, whether it be tomorrow or 1000 years in the future i want it to happen.
sux2bhim.
Sorry, nah my relatives are either healthy or dead.
Oh yeah, my mothers gran (Who I last saw about 3 years ago) has breast cancer.
Oh, and my dad has a dodgey thiroxide gland, which he uses as an excuse to get fat.

not really but I could go and watch operations with a brain surgeon, very interesting what they do tbh. Could you please be a bit more specific about the 'stuff growing in his brain' or don't you know much detail? is it supposedly a tumor of some sort? what are the doctors saying about it?
anyway, best of luck to your old man.

Not on his brain.
My Dad just had a lot of his insides taken out and is having chemotherapy now
I hope your Dad is OK now.

well last year it was low-grade glioma. they can't say what this one is until they get the results back from mayo. the surgeon said he couldn't tell much from the frozen sample or whatever. i don't know much about the whole medical field.dayarath wrote:

Back in highschool my neighbor friends dad got a brain tumor and had the surgery. He still ended up dying less than a year later. Kinda surreal for me cuz I had known them and their dad my whole life. They knew for awhile though so they at least had plenty of time to prepare for it.
Well I suppose the glioma has regrown then, they probably didn't remove it all too well the last time or he's just plain unlucky. Good thing it's benign though. When you getting the results?ig wrote:

i had a friend whose father had a malignant tumor removed, and he was freed of cancer. he even tried committing suicide before the surgery. he was better after all that and moved home to iran. 3 months later he died of a massive heart attack at 55 years old.Ajax_the_Great1 wrote:

Good luck to you--hope he recovers quickly.
My grandma has cancer, so lots of chem that way,
but my granddad has had over 15 operations on his heart in 20 years, it's mostly artifial now, and he's still going...not as strongly, but still fightin'--it's good to see what modern medicine can do

I like pie.
yeah the doctor (different one than last time) said that they probably weren't aggressive enough with the last one. hopefully it's just the same thing, but we won't know for sure until early next week.dayarath wrote:

Aight but I suppose your dad will be allright considering that the doctor will be handling the tumor with more care this time if it's the same (I bet it is actually) good luck.ig wrote:

My neighbor had cancer in his head. They tried to operate on him, but there wasn't anything more they could do. So he passed away like two months ago.
My dad had skin cancer (which was safely removed) back in 06 and then a heart attack in September. He's not a very healthy person...
I hope he's okay
Thyroid gland, it regulates body metabolism.Funky_Finny wrote:

My father died due to lung cancer in march '07. Hope your wont...
I truly hope your dad is going to be perfectly fine......he will just you wait and see
My sister had brain surgery a few times to remove part of her brain. They were trying to get rid of her seizures. I guess if they cut out the right spot, they can get rid of them/cut down on them drastically.ig wrote:
