does anyone know where the hl2 sound clips are stored like music
some of the music is the game is the best ive ever heard and id like to listen to it

They are stored in the big gcf files in your Steam/SteamApps folder.. you can open them with something like GCFScape

However if they are in a format in HL2 that you can play I dont know (but I used to get the HL1 wav files this way)

1. Download GCFScape and install it;
2. Go into your STEAM directory and you should see a lot of GCF files (might need to browse through a folder or two but you should find them!), such as "Half-Life 2 base content" and so on;
3. Open with GCFScape and locate your way to the sound (may be known as "ui" for some games);
4. Enjoy! You can also simply "copy" the files onto your desktop and it'll take them out of the GCFScape for a personal audio copy.

I love the Half-Life 2 soundtrack - can't beat it! (well, maybe Episode One and Two!)
