BF2S Forums The disparity in the way the races are treated in America

It took nearly 300 years for racial near-equality to poke its head out in this country, and now we are pulling a u-turn.

If you want to be accepted, become acceptable. Some shit has to be let go occasionally.

exactly, the Don Imus-gate is another perfect example. I loved how the black communities were all up in arms about what he said and how offended they were.............until the hip hop killa cop music lyrics were quoted. Then all of a sudden they shut the fuck up.

it really seems to me that youre using a few interest groups to gauge the sentiment of an entire ethnic group.   I mean, based on what I see on this forum alone, it would be safe for me to say that all white people want to call black people and hispanics niggers and wetbacks?  Thats a generalization I cant make though, because regardless of how many people want to say that, I know those individuals cant speak for an entire race.

Nope, I am gauging those that make the headlines with their bullshit.

the only reason they make headlines is because its bullshit.  the news isnt trying to inform, theyre just there to sell the ad time.

I honestly wish the term race would drop from existence.

True, you can sometimes choose your country of citizenship. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of heritage.

One of the biggest eye-opening moments in my life was when, in college, a speaker responded to a question with, "Why would I be proud of something over which I had no control?"

The question was "Are you proud of your Jewish heritage?" It was asked of a man (who I respect very much) who was relating his experiences at Auschwitz. Without a doubt, the hardest EE professor in the school.

When he responded the way he did, it just absolutely silenced the group and turned a light bulb on in my head. I had never heard it put that way before, but it made (and still makes) perfect sense to me.

I no longer watch TBS or the NBA (even though I've always sorta liked Barkley, especially before that) and I'd like to spread the word so the rest of the world knows what the hell is going on.

If you don't like George Bush what are you going to do, keep your mouth shut and vote, or try to convince others of your point of view? If you find racism unpalatable should you only refuse to frequent the businesses of those who are racist, or should you tell others to likewise boycott? Get a clue. The whole reason for forums like this is to make OTHERS aware of what we see as indiscretions.
