I noticed when I do a stratorun, I still get the missile lock warning, even though the enemy jet is waaay behind.

So my question is: Is there really any point in switching to bomb mode after firing a missile?
..I mean right after, btw.

Because it is, the missile that is, still locked onto you until it blows up.

So it's pointless.

If it's so useless, then why did you bump it?

To flatter me.

It worked.

While a missile is tailing the jet, they will hear the lock and try to dodge it.

As soon as that missile is gone, if you are in bomb mode, they will stop hearing the lock and think they are safe (unless they are a competent pilot and check their back).

This gives you an oppurtunity to tail them stealthily, then blast them with machine guns or hit them with missiles again.

A good tactic is to lock the target, wait for them to waste flares (use a dummy missile if necessary), then switch to bombs and tail them.

This is one of the reasons good pilots check their six constantly
