Aliens out there?

Definately

Intelligent?

Probably

Came to Earth?

Based on the amount of time, money, and effort required to undertake such a task, I'd have to say no (assuming superliminal velocity is impossible to achieve)

if it is possible it go faster than the speed of light (I have a theory about how it may be done) then It is possible (although still not likely, our star is in the back woods of the galaxy, and only stars 100LY away or less would have recieved transmissions from us)

As for my theory, supermassive objects decrease the speed of light near their surface, so if you attain near light speed, then approach said object, you will be past the light threshold, allowing you to accelerate indefiantely (the theory of relativity is undefined at v=c, but it becomes a function again at v>c)

They probably exist, but it's highly unlikely they came here. Space is really really big, and why WOULD they come here?

Unless faster than light travel is possible, they can't have gotten here since knowing of us.

Did you guys know that Archaeologists have found cave paintings of flying saucers next to pictures of animals from the caveman days? I saw a show on the discovery channel once about it. We've been seeing UFOs for thousands of years, and they have watched our civilization evolve.

so theres absolutely no chance they were depicting meteors, comets, the moon, the sun, novae, or lightning?

If you ask me... we are the aliens... if that makes sense, let me explain:
Thousands of years ago, when the ancient Egyptians were about, well, they worked well, and were advanced, well, i think that was aliens, then we killed/"expeled" the humans from this planet, and then, as time moved on he settled here, and forgot about it.
I truly believe this, and no-one can deter me from doing so.

Gladiator was better.
I think Kingdom of Heaven was more enjoyable than Gladiator for me.  Not to say Gladiator wasn't a great movie.
I couldn't get into it. I was switching on and off with that film.

If they were intelligent enough to have the means of travelling here, they would certanly have no reason too, nothing on earth has any galactical value, im sure in the grand scheme of things, human intelligence is pretty average on the Life spectrum and of no real interest to others.

We have no real power source that aliens might want, the energy required to get here would vastely outway the energy we could provide.

The problem with intergalactic space travel is that space is too large and the gaps in between too huge, no intellegent race would bother.

I'm sure there must be intelligent life among the billions of galaxies.
On the other hand I don't think anyone has ever visited us, except maybe some simple life forms on an asteroid that hit the Earth.

The thought of an other planet like the Earth is fascinating for sure.

With a universe 78 billion light years across, containing 100 billion trillion stars all possible of having planets orbiting them, of course there are other lifeforms. In fact, I almost guarantee it.

IMO there are intelligent life forms for sure, but I'm sure they never came to Earth.  The universe is huge and then the odds are they've never been here.
i agree completely with your thought.
i will say without a doubt in my mind that there is other life in the universe. it would be a catastrophic waste of space for our use only.

how would they know what is here if they have never been?

i think there is another life form, if not many others out there.  as people have been saying, the billions of galaxies and stars, it's almost an 100% chance there is.  Will we ever meet them? If we both live for a thousands of more years, maybe, but still unlikely.  We will probably go extinct before we meet them, and another life form  will take our place.  It's really fascinating to think about this, and that is one of the reasons i am going into astronomy and physics when i go into uni
