Weird Error with C&C Generals: Zero Hour

Generals works, I can play that fine, but when I execute ZH it starts to load and then i get the following error:

DirectX Error

Please make sure you have DirectX 8.1 or higher installed, Also verify that your video card meets the minimum requirements

Obviously, I have DX 9...I play BF2 on highest. I'm patched to 1.04. I've reinstalled. Does anyone else have an idea for me?

Also, i should add, it worked for me before I reformatted my computer, so I don't think it's a hardware issue.

Quite obviously, he can't even get into a game. Of any kind.

Anyhow, driver update, reinstall, etc.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity.
