Why not have a tax for being ignorant. Then maybe you won't be able to afford internet access.theDude5B wrote:
America needs to introduce a FAT tax. Anyone who is considered obese should have to pay said tax as they could be damaging public property because of their weight.
i.e. an obese person sits on a park bench and breaks it. The bench needs to be fixed, so they now have extra funding from the FAT tax.
Fat people will then have less money to spend on fastfood, and will have to eat less until they are thinner.
Government wins, fat people lose (weight), fastfood outlets dont lose out as they are not punished for feeding bad food.
Win, Win, Win as far as i can see.
HAHAHA - notice the bold for emphasis.
You take some sort of offence to what I said? What about all the other posts?

No. I just think you are ignorant, and said as much.theDude5B wrote:

Do you really think fast food alone is the sole cause of obesity? As your proposed plan would suggest. And only imposing a tax to the fatties would be discriminating ungodly hard, especially for imposing it on something that's yet to occur.theDude5B wrote:

And how would imposing a tax to obese people help...anything. They would still buy just as much food, and still exercise just as little. Eating better and not exercising is worthless.
Actually, that is completely wrong. Eating better without excercise will reduce your chances of having coronary problems or diabetes.BlackKoala wrote:

But anyway, Dude, I don't think we can really speak. Scotland has the highest Obese: Population ratio in the entire world. We also have the worst heart attack rates in the world. So comparing us to America is kind of hard.
Obesity is a problem all around the world, but if we cut odwn on the crap that was eaten. It would make a difference, even if we do not excercise.
While true, according to the thread title that's irrelevant. I don't think the OP gives two shits about how healthy we are, and the health issues obesity brings to the table, all he cares about is how they look in bikinis and walking down the street.Zimmer wrote:

I really doubt that Koala. Knowing that he also lives in Scotland, I can guarantee you that that is not the reason he made that comment. Obesity here is a problem, as it is in America. He put in his 2 ccents which ( I think ) he wants to happen in America as well as in Scotland.
As you can't look good in bikinis in Scotland, I think that point is irrelevant.

The original post. Not blaming, but mentioning fast food places and sturbucks.
@Zimmer, yeah I know, hence I have freedom to post what I want about this subject. Also the FACT that I used to be obese a year and a half ago and have worked my ass off playing football and going to the gym 6 days a week to get down to a healthy size.
NO i dont think fast food outlets are the sole cause of obesity. But do you really think I was being serious with this post? The topic is in the "Junk Drawer" sub forum.blademaster wrote:
What are some of the ideas that you would come up with to solve obesity(here in U.S.) considering there are so many fast foods places here plus starbucks which has tons of sugar.

There really is nothing you can do though. Many people still can eat McDonalds and exercise after so it's fine.
Oh, I know. Block all people who have a BMI 6+ points over the normal from ordering anything over 500 calories from a restaurant.
I was referring to the OP, and even cited that...? OP is in Chicago, and has already made it very clear he cares more about the looks more than the health risks associated. This is also why I assumed the Dude's posts were relevant to that. Oh, that and half the people in this thread believe fast food is the sole cause of fatties, so I couldn't tell if he was sarcastic or not.Zimmer wrote:

Especially after he questioned Toenail's telling him he was ignorant.

I just dont like being told I am something without a reason to back it up. Like i said, this is in a sub forum which is not to be taken seriously, if it was in the D&S forum, then I would have never posted what I had because it is just stupid.
how about asking next time: what would you do to help Americans behave?
Then why take my comment so seriously? I thought your comment was ignorant and devoid of any logic. In D&ST, I would have replied with something constructive. But like you said, here you don't have to.theDude5B wrote:

But hey, if you need a reason, I read your comment and it made a negative first impression.

See above. If you can't tell from that, then, well, my suspicions are further confirmed.theDude5B wrote:

yes, i know that you have given your reasons now as I am not illiterate as well as ignorant.
But you had asked a question to which I had already given an answer to. are my suspicions that you are a .... wait, i will stop myself as I don't want to start calling people names in a thread which has already been derailed.

The only way Americans will stop eating fast food, especially hamburgers is to use the hamburger meat McDonalds uses in Italy....fricken taste like shit.
200lbs? I'm over 200lbs and if I go on a treadmill I get heavier, due to muscle growth.Skorpy-chan wrote:
