Only 2 options because you either think we have or not, if you take away all of our technology away we are still the same beings as we were 1000 years ago, i believe that human beings have not evolved.. Discuss

1000 years ago we were pretty much the same if evolution's a fact.
I think we've evolved.

I heard on the radio the other night that human ability to drink milk is a sign of evolution. So I guess we must be..

Well it depends on what time scale you are referring to.  Biologically, not much has changed over the last 1000 years.  I'm sure there have been a few changes and mutations here and there, but since we are such large animals, it's hard to see dramatic change.  If you are speaking on the entirety of humanity's time on Earth, then yes, we've evolved.  I said yes because I know that with all the cells in our bodies, there has to have been a few changes over the last 1000 years.

Not in any real major sense.  Take away technology, and you still get Lord of the Flies.

1000 years is but a minute in the process of evolution...noticeable differences and change takes eons to produce.  We've definitely evolved socially and given ourselves new ways to think about things, but physically it'll take many more years to produce biological/physiological differences.

edit: I'm assuming we're just talking about the last 1000 years?
/edit.

Interesting question. Yes, I believe we've evolved slightly... slightly. Nothing noticeable, but evolution is always happening. However, we're devolving thanks to societal influences in the phasing-out of "survival of the fittest."

Also, are we responsible for the evolution of viruses to which we are host? AIDS and HIV have only recently become what they are, and others, such as Smallpox, are now extremely rare and mutated thanks to effective vaccines. Also, it's been proven that Influenza has numerous different strains which have evolved thanks to human migration.

So... my short answer is Yes, but not significantly... assuming we're talking about the last 1000 years. If we go back 50,000 years, then it's obvious. Just look at skin color.

Yeah, I read somewhere that if the Earth's life was converted to a 24 hour clock, the length of time that humans have been here would be amount to 12 seconds.

We have in fact evolved and one big difference taking place in our days is oral - not sure what you call those teeth in the far back of the mouth, one on each side and both in the upper jaw and the lower jaw - four all together.

They are disappearing, more and more children are born without them and it is a biological change seeing as we don't need them anymore.

This is true, although we always had the ability to consume dairy, the number of lactose intolerant people his diminished. Think of it though, humans produce milk... it's just cows/goats milk that are common allergens.
Lactose intolerance is too common to say we've evolved past it though... so to repeat myself... we've evolved slightly.

Technology IS evolution. That's why large land mammals and birds are extinct, and whales are heading that way. If it's bigger and meaner than us, it's endangered. Why? Becuase we like shooting things.

It's only a matter of ten, twenty maybe thirty thousand years (if that long) before we, well not we specifically.. more our dependents, will see a new human race evolve passed us like the neanderthal and cro magnan before us.

not really, we've been at the top of the food chain for a long time.  stress induces evolution.

If anything we are devolving as a species. Natural selection has been haltered by medicine and feminist groups, and the sick and stupid are now allowed and able to procreate and produce more sick and stupid humans. Not to mention on average, the sick and stupid have far more kids and far earlier then the smart and healthy making the proportion of 'evolved' humans less with each successive generation.

We have become way to dependant on technology and medicine and the human body no longer needs to evolve to stay alive. Yet at the same time the continual misuse of medicines are spawning new and much more deadly super germs which are evolving and mutating with ever increasing speed so soon we'll have no cure for the simplest of common colds.
