Knowing that there are at least a handful of people here who would need it in their official capacity, I was wondering, what kind of devices do you guys use for mobile IP connectivity?

Myself, I used a GPRS PCMCIA card for a while, but my employer threw a 7.2Mbps HSDPA 3G USB modem at me, which is working really awesomely.

Just for kicks, and to revive this thread, I'm posting this from a train on my way home from work.

Doesn't anyone here use any form of mobile data networking?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Not really. I hop on the occasional WiFi with my PDA, but that's about it.

How is the service on GPRS? I've only used it while stationary, and I'm considering getting something of my own for mobile connectivity. I don't need high bandwidth, but I need something that works on the move. HSDPA is fairly decent, and gets really nice downstream rates, but the price corresponds to the service. Will GPRS work while, say, driving on a highway?
