I moved my computer to a different circuit and now it is able to turn on. Though the problem of windows not booting up still remains. When I press the power button, all the fans go, but nothing boots. The monitor light remains orange as if the computer were off. What could be the source of this problem? At this point I assume it is the motherboard. Does anyone have any ideas of how to troubleshoot? I do have a spare computer that I don't use that can be used to switch out parts temporarily to test stuff.

CPU or motherboard.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
