So i got an R4DS thing for my nintendo DS, when suddenly the reader for the micro SD card concs outs.

The light simply wouldnt turn on and wuld read the card (card works perfectly)

Then i went to Tesco and bought another card reader for the same purpose.

Today again, the light has faded to a mild dim as opposed to the bright blue and red that was emmited before. What could have happened? is there anything in the bios to regulate the voltages going to USB devices and could mine just beb too much?? thanks

USB is always 5V (and I think 600mA) so there's nothing to set.

However, those numbers are shared by all devices on that bus. Unplug stuff.

hmm so u think it may just b sapping power from other things? even tho none are in the other USB slots, as in the section that its plugged into on the mobo?

I would say it's underpowered, not overpowered. Your USB hubs are always paired, and there is 500mA to distribute to the two ports. You can see how much power the hubs are drawing from device manager, then Universal Serial Bus Controllers, then double click on the USB root hub, then go to Power tab.
