Thats nothing. I mean who will pledge undying loyalty to steve jobs and give him a verbal blowjob with words of overblown praise.

You can't even remove the battery or upgrade/replace any parts because it is all locked up.  As one person put it, "It's more like a 'device' than a computer."

Well, the MacBook Air is sexy, and I can understand the pricing, really. Not often I approve of Mac, but this is good. I mean, that chip that contains the CPU, graphics, RAM, USB controllers, etc is just minimal! And backlit keyboard on top of that.

The Intel X3100 graphics chipsets aren't really that bad, either. They can do the basics and run a few games on all low (Remember running BF2 on my integrated graphics chipset... On the i915G chipset...).

Some manufacturer should do one that's a little thicker and cheaper, about 1" or something, and has something along the lines of a 7300/8400 card, and some more ports.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

There are already laptops like that, iirc, Freezer.

But yea, Apple's iPod line (at least the Video/Classic) is the best bang for buck for an mp3 player. All those features in a small and reliable package. I use the shit out of my 30GB Video every damn day.
