I've noticed commanders on low player servers like to run around capping flags, fair do's, but if you have a team mate there with you, let him get the 2 points for it, because that adds onto your score, if you capture the flag, he only adds his 1 point assist
i know there isn't a big difference between the points, but it all adds up to your final x2

i realized that once after an extremely long round on dragon valley. i easily could have scored over 300 pts that round, but i was the only one killing and capping flags, so i only finished around 160 after the 2x.Tehremos wrote:

Still deserved a rebuttal. Not trying to be offensive or anything, just that I have cold fingers and the typo demon is afoot. The less I type, the easier it is.MrAnderson wrote:

And, frankly, it's advice for being a good commander, not a pointwhore one. It's always satisfying to be told I'm the finest squad he's ever laid eyes on just after I join, cap and then defend a flag, heal/revive/supply a few people, and generally be useful.
(Best I've got is two minutes in on Sharqi; spawn, take out enemy chopper with SRAW to the rotors from above, recap flag, then go off and grab the outlying flags. That game was the biggest roll of my life.)
command on a knife+pistol server ^_^

Anyway, low players, IO thats that, DON'T fight.
Command on an IO server. Try for a 64p map, but only half full. Only fight if you have to. And finally, win.
Ok, so my question still hasn't gotten answered, I asked how specifically you get commander points, I got a reply of "Playing half empty IO Karkand servers",
What I meant was, what events trigger the commander getting points?
-Arty kills,
-I picked up Flag captures(And how many?)
What else, that's what I meant.

I have never commanded.....so it is as simple as doing absolutely nothing?? and your score is the average score of your team??

I guess so.
Or the average of the points received from the point you got accepted if you don;t start from the start.
But if you don;t do anything, someone's bound to Mutinize you.

Yeah, it's basically like that, there is a little more to it, but it really doesn't matter. You will end up with roughly the mean of your team's score at the end of the game.TehMyke wrote:

We did answer it in the 1st page, yes you will get the same score (theoretically) for doing nothing, but obviously if you help your team they will hopefully get more points, thus you get more.
And Skorpy, yup I know what ya mean, but the OP asked about big commander points, so I'm talking from the point of view of a pointwhore commander

team stack, give UAV to the higher scoring people, and supplies to them too, dont help your team to the extent of them capping out early,
you get points based on the points of your team, doing stuff wont get you points, but it can help them get points, so you get points.
also playing karkand 64, with about 8-15 people IO or not, doesnt matter too much, also using the arty=less possible kills for your team, so only use it when needed or requested
i suppose that would get max points

The scoring points for the commander i think is something like this:
Each kill a teammember makes he gets 2 points
Lets say your team has 20 living players during a kill.
When a teammember takes a kill the score is divided by the number of players alive during that kill.
So the commander gets 2 / 20 = 0,1 point
This also counts for the flag points etc.
You can not see this score but when your team get a total of 10 kills you get 1 point.

from what I've noticed, long rounds score big points but they take a while. Seems like 64 player Ghost town IO rounds take about 15 minutes and the commander usually get about 80 points.steelie34 wrote:
since the WCR has a hefty commander point requirement, what is the formula for getting the most pts as commander? besides winning the round (duh!) what server conditions let you score biggest? few players, long rounds? Quite possible is sniping with commander powers. You're omniscient, and an omniscient sniper is the best sniper. Of course, make sure to command properly between headshots, don't leave your team in the dark!
But no points for that, in fact you are robbing your team (and yourself) of points by doing thatCyrax-Sektor wrote:

Couple of points on the commander score that should answer the question earlier about how a commander can get a higher score than any of his team mates.
1) Obviously, the biggest fact is the doubling of your points if you're the winning commander.
2) Commanders points are not reduced by negative points (TKs, Team Damage, Team Vehicle Damage) that their team in penalized. So, for example Player 1 ends the round with 20 kills, 5 TKs and 4 Flag Cap assists. His score is 40-20+4=24. For that player, the Commander gets 44 points of credit towards the final calculation of his/her score. The -20 doesn't factor into the calculation of Commander points. Hope that's not too confusing.

There are a lot things I wanted to quote but I'll just do this.
Team points consist of these various things done by a player:
Capping a flag (+2) = +1 for Commander
Defending a flag (+2) = +1 for Commander
Reviving mate (+2) = +1 for Commander
I don't think heals or ammo points (+1) count at all for the commander, can he get +.5 points? I don't think so...
The #1 most IMPORTANT thing to help your team win is FLAG CONTROL! And being the all-seeing Commander, it is easy to take back flags you need to stop TICKET loss for your team. As long as you control the flags, and the other teams tickets are flashing slowing down the drain, I think your win is assured.
BUT if you want to be risky, you can EVEN the ticket count, so NO side is losing tickets, thus the round lasts longer, and you get more points!! But, when it comes down to the end, you gotta make sure your side can cap more flags and hold them!
This really works good in I/O. Firstly, because when you go out to cap a needed flag back that nobody really goes to, you have nothing to worry about since you can be aware of any potential threat. ESPECIALLY artillery
If you want your command points, you HAVE to play I/O. Much more team points are given out.
The Commander gets points from EACH players team points. (Right?)**LiLp-DeFiNeD wrote:
