I have been to Okinawa (Camp Hanson....Sin City), and I may have bumped into S3V3N over in Albania when we helo'd in to provide security for the US embassy in Tirana ( I think some of you FAST boys were there.) Also, I recieved a combat action in the 99 Kosovo conflict.

I have done nothing heroic and my medals are in a cigar box for my son someday. As for the rest of my stories, they are for me. Some are in my heart and some are in my nightmares, but they are for me.

The good ol' days. Lance is a special rank because its not too late to get NCO once you've been NJP'd but once you get CPL and lose a stripe it just plain embarrasing.

Nice 'stache. You tryin to be a corpsman in that pic or what? Fancy barracks room, fancy moustache......wait a minute. How the fuck did you get away with having a recliner in the barracks? You are a God. And nice name tape, I never had the balls to do it but a few of my buds would go to the chow hall with some crazy ass nametapes. There was a corporal in my unit who had some friend from the 2nd FSSG, his name was Stephen G Makepeace I swear on my life. His parents were hippies or some shit but anyway some Gunny thought he was being slick and made a big scene in the chow hall. Makepeace whipped out his ID and the guy about shit himself. Legendary.

Ok guys, aside from where we have been and what we've done, lets hear some funny stories. Whats the most fucked up prank you played on Pyle? You know, every platoon has "that shitbag" we allow to drink with us but only because we like to fuck with him. Ours was this guy named Crestman. Total shit head and had been a PFC like 3 times. We waited for him to pass out once and black permanent markerd him from the sleeve line down on his arms, knees down on the legs and 95% of his head and face. Lets just say our PT formation got interesting on Moday morning. Fag had to go to medical for that one. Although none of us admitted it they knew..... Oh they knew alright, I think our run was a 10 miler that morning. Worth it though, +1 for us.

I was in the army until a few months ago, for 11 months. Which is the standard service time for young men and women serving in the Swedish armed forces. I was a part of a Regiment that trains security and guard soldiers (technically infantry but our heritage is cavallry), so I have a lot of experience in guarding different high importance objects such as military camps/bunkers and even the Royal Palace in Stockholm (during ceremonial service mostly). I also have extensive training in hand-to-hand combat, urban warfare, escorts and VIP escorts.
The closest I have ever come to real combat is with "Sim-fire" equipment that you put on your rifles and your body, that start beeping loudly once you get shot.
Sweden currently has peacekeeping troops in Afghanistan and Kosovo with NATO. I applied but didn't get in. Most people don't, there are only a few hundred men and women in service in these countries.
Here's a video tribute to swedish soldiers in Afghanistan I found on youtube, worth watching:

Here's a pic of me with a L96A1:

Here's me looking hardcore with my Green Beret! (Had to go through a lot of shit to diserve it!):

One bright shining, blue sky day I was acting as Sergeant of the Guard for Camp Security. Lo and behold I find an unattended M16A2 Service Rifle in an Up Armored Humvee.  Now me, being a verteran of Security mumbojumbo, I had a great scheme.  I field stripped said M16A2 Service rifle, hid all the parts in various locations, drew a map and found the local shitbag PFC (3rd Award) Ryan Brown, He wore a fancy sign that said, I lost my rifle, I have recieved corrective action for my mistakes.   Lets say he had a nice little scavenger hunt, then I tied 550 cord to his rifle and to his belt loops, he wore this getup for about 2 weeks..

we had a little trio that stuck together through bootcamp and SOI and then hit my platoon, we made sure they went to get the keys for the hummers, batteries for the chem lights, dig us a proper trench with your MRE utensils

Bucket of RotorWash and a 100 feet of flight line.

And for fuck sake don't forget to unlock the humvee turret.  Dead Center Peg is 1 you numbskull.  The combination is 4R, 33L, 13R.

Im thinking of maybe going into the RAF after uni. Ive been flying a fair few times, and the instructor said i was a natural, and ive always wanted to be a pilot.

On the other hand, im also pretty good with a rifle, so maybe infantry would be good for me.

And i did like 4/5 years in the ATC, so i know stuff about that sorta thing.

But i dno
If you're a Uni then I would imagine RAF is for you. You'd be too overqualified for infantry, plus you may as well use your degree to earn serious money.
I'm going uni next year to do Geography, which a RAF enrolement guy told me is pretty nice to have as a pilot.

I'd like to go straight to commercial piloting, but if that doesnt work out then i'd prob do 14 years in RAF, leave then get picked up by a airline.

From what i hear, BA etc pretty much snap up ex RAF pilots as soon as they become avaliable.

Here you go:

1. Sea and Anchor detail sucks ass.

2. any watch after the 4th watch, sucks ass.

3. On the positive side you'll learn to fall asleep in 2 minutes and wake up without an alarm clock. When you have 40 minutes to sleep you don't stare at the ceiling for a half an hour before you fall asleep.

The first two years I had sea-duty, part of a Marine Detachment on an aircraft carrier stationed in beautiful North Island, CA
California was awesome!
I was on a the carrier during Operation Desert Sheild & Desert Storm

My final two years were in Camp Lejuene, NC....totally sucked compared to Cali.
I was in a Weapons Platoon on a crew served 60mm mortar.
Deployed in the Adriatic Sea during the Bosnian/Croasian civil war.
