I appreciate your optimism.  But do not gauge the elections off of Nevada.  That place is........weird.

Kmarion's right on this one.  Edwards needs to get the fuck out, so that Obama can win.

Well I think we all know the party will force out who they don't want.......or who will not "win."

Well, I think it's more a matter of buying your way into the nomination.   Both Hillary and Romney have a shitload of money to bribe delegates with.

It's bad enough that we have an electoral college, but even our primary process isn't truly democratic.  It's a fucking joke.

I think it's because no one really sees Ron Paul as an actual candidate for the Republican Party.  I'm sure the Republican Party itself would rather have someone like Mitt or even Rudy.
Why is he not a realistic candidate?  If he werent so realistic he wouldnt be gathering such a strong base of followers despite being sidelined by the media.  His campaign is having trouble spending all his money, while Rudy's cant afford to pay its staff.  I dont think those are signs that a candidate is unrealistic.
He's got his followers, sure.  The Republican Party will only endorse him if he wins enough primary votes, which he hasn't.  I don't think Ron Paul's campaign is "having trouble spending all his money" so much as they haven't figured out where to pour the money - which is different from Rudy Guiliani's campaign which has TV and other forms of media ads running throughout the country.  I think Rudy, Mitt, and John McCain have all raised more money than Ron Paul has, but I'm not sure about that.

Any state with a closed or even modified primary system is a joke.  We really should be able to weight the candidates, regardless of which party we are registered for.

Apparently the idea of proportional representation is rather muted by our system, which helps explain the muted understanding of this concept by the average American.

We have a "winner takes all" system in both elections and economics.

Yeah, I was reading about the delegate thing. That's just gay. Although you do have dedicated people who will vote for who they promise to vote for. They're just people at the end of the day.

People who can be bribed, killed, replaced, blackmailed to do whatever someone wants for them.

I can understand why usmarine says he doesn't vote
