I've checked the summary data page... look!

Unspecified    2    0.00 %
1 cpu    655,838    61.15 %    #############################################################
2 cpus    379,305    35.37 %    ###################################
3 cpus    17    0.00 %
4 cpus    37,214    3.47 %    ###
8 cpus    89    0.01 %
127 cpus    3    0.00 %
There are 89 people with 8 CPUs, and 3 people with 127 CPUs.

Myself i got 2.

Is Valve, or any other game makers, registered at steam and did this surveys, can it be in someway hacked or can you buy 8 CPUs/127 CPUs somewhere in the world?

There are bugs. You can see that. Some people have a processor who's vendor is a funny "r". One person has a graphics card which supports x16 MSAA despite not even the 8800 series supporting that. There are 25 "Unknown"s in the microphone section which have only one person. It's just a bug with the detection.

Yep. 8 is legitimate. I have a friend with 8cpus, but 127 is oftentimes the maximum value for a computerized state variable (I know this because I do a lot of music production, and everything goes from 0-127. A scale of 128 numbers... which fits into that whole common computer number sequence thingy)... So... it may sound like I'm talking out my ass, and I am, but that's just my guess. It's a glitch that read the maximum amount.

You can get servers with 8 processors (supplied a couple in the past)

not sure about 127 either glitch or hax - always assumed those odd extras were just sad loser hacking the survey reply stream (and Valve not checking the input well enough) (oh and I would think its 127 because thats the max value in a signed byte)

I know there are 8 cored processors etc, i know quiet a lot of that... (not as much as you do, but i know as far as you can put how many CPUs as you want in a PC, with loads of cores in each CPU)
