An interesting video but I've made it my place to never fully believe anything which is created with that creepy music just for shock value.

Scientology has a troubling history no doubt and I don't agree with it by any means, however certain things do dilute the point this video is trying to make. For example our old neighbors had a baby a few years ago. Our neighbors were deeply religious christians, the type who would only open the door on Halloween to say that they didn't think we should be hiding the "beautiful face God gave us with those horrible masks."

Anyway back to the baby. It got sick, and our neighbors being the creepy fundamentalists they are decided that despite medical advice given to them that they would agree with their minister and it would be their faith in God which would heal their baby. A few weeks later the baby died of pneumonia. Our neighbors were charged for criminal negligence but granted name supression.
This kind of thing happens all the time with people who are so wrapped up it their faiths that they let all common sense just fly out the window.

Scientology is nasty and I dispise it but largely it is harmless, especially when compared with other religions.

Well said really, to me I'd say most religions crossed the line long ago, and then you get situations like these as you described above. I can understand why usm has a hard time to distinguish cults from actual religions now.

Sure scientology is redicoules, but not nearly as harmfull as other religions.

Would be a good watch seeing Tom Cruise doing the "Last Samurai" thing leading his crew over a cliff but still i doubt it even if they are gone there´s 100 new undiscovered religons hiding in the shadows ready to take it´s place.


Edit: I might add the only reason i see why these new trend religons have a harder time convincing the masses they are the one and only, is pretty simple today we don´t need religon we already have "everything" back then when Christianity had the boom they had a rough time to say it gentle i assume they saw religon as a hope maybe a new chance.

Of course Jesus and Muhammed must have been darn good speakers, but hitler was a good agitator as well.. maybe he should have been born 1000 years earlier. I guess it´s pretty clear i really don´t like religon and don´t believe in it what so ever so i should just stop.

A real religion will, at its core, be meant to do good. People may take advantage of a religion, and people may get so wrapped up in their beliefs that they lose common sense, yes, shit happens. But the core principles of a religion are always meant to make the world a better place.

BUT. Scientology is not meant to do good. It was created with the SOLE PURPOSE of making money. It was a scam from the first second on in. Its only goal is to ROB PEOPLE. It is an organized criminal society. Anyone who criticizes scientology is marked as "fair game":

I don't hate religion, i think it's good for people to believe in something, gives em hope. Hope and believes is a basic need, and thats why it is so easy to convince people to believe in all kind of crack pot ideas, and it's also very easy to take advantage of peoples believes.

I bet someone invented Christianity at some point in history, don't you think? I can also bet he got something out of it...

Wrong. Your post implied that anyone who is religious is somehow controlled and keeps handing out money to their chosen church. I said that is a statement of ignorance, because it is wrong.

Didn't want to make a new thread so I bumped this one. I was just having dinner and went through my mail and spotted a flyer about a wonderful book of Dianetics. Didn't first look at the picture of the book since it was a bit fuzzy so I read what it was about. It goes on for a few row about how mankind has know for ages that 70% of human diseases are made by the mind itself. I started to go wtf at that point and then came thisss. There's also a part how in this book about modern day science L. Ron Hubbard explains about his findings and things. At that point I almost choked on my food laughing.

This band of comedians have registered themselves in Finland too, plus they even tried to register Scientology as a religion. Luckily the guys and gals at the ol' government were aware about this little bunch, so they denied the application. Finnish Wiki says there are 83 members in Finland and they have two offices too. I'm just wondering when they are going to pull something off in Finland. Good thing is that most of this countrys inhabitants can use common sense. Atleast according to the number of members.
