Firefox, I'm breaking up with you. We had some good times of browsing forums, searching for torrents and checking my mails, but you're just too slow for me. I can no longer stand your clunky design, your long startup time, and your constant crashes. Even the beta version of 3 doesn't show much improvement: same old interface, same slow speed, same old errors. I'm sorry, it's just not working out.

I have a new browser - respectively, two new browsers. I'm switching to both Opera and Maxthon. Both are faster. Both offer tabbed browsing. Maxthon offers extensions as well. Opera offers email, irc, a download manager and torrents all by default (and is smaller and faster than firefox). Both use less RAM - combined. Both are less buggy. Both are less clunky, have smooth skins that don't either hurt your eyes or have annoyingly round buttons. They're both just...better...

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. The latest (beta) version of FF is much faster for me than the old one, and considerably faster than Opera. Doesn't take any longer to start up for me than Opera, and no issues with crashing, although admittedly this doesn't apply to the beta. As for interface, I am no fan of the Opera one whatsoever. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's a RAM hog. I'd be more inclined to give Opera another chance, however the lack of extensions sucks, and no built in adblocker is shit, frankly. Until another company comes out with a browser than either has the fanbase to create decent extensions, or has the ones I require built in, I'll stick with FF.

Opera actually does have a built-in adblocker. It's just called content blocker, for fear of upsetting their sponsors
