He has a point.

I had fucking loads of lego sets... My favourite set was...

http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6462

I hated losing instructions though... I had this bad boy but was never able to build it again as I didn't have the instructions:

http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6155

And I always wanted this:

http://guide.lugnet.com/set/5956

It seemed bigger when I was younger...

Man I love Lego...

Glad to see so many other members enjoy Legos as much as I do.

And those that have such a tissy over the fact that they are indeed called LEGO, it's just seems natural to call them Legos, which sounds plural and there are many pieces, since LEGO sounds singular, unlike sheep, which we know can both be singular and plural.  So Either post your response of how much you like Legos, or GTFO with your "omg it's LEGO" crap.  Thanks

Anyways, didn't realize I missed them so much - I could totally go for putting together one of those large ~$100 sets right now

Lego is great. Does anyone else remember the Aquanaut/shark sets of '95-'96, (The Aquasharks made a brief return in '98 or so Wikipedia tells me.) I loved those, I had the massive Aquanaut "Discovery Base" and the Aquashark "Deep Sea Predator". They were so cool.
Damn! Those were great! Only got one from that set I think though...

The arctic LEGO's were awesome too.

The technics were my favourites in the end. Pneumatics and motors...

I spent many hours messing about with Duplo (when I was really young) and LEGO. My brother had sets, he had a gas station and a police department. I never had any sets, just random bricks with which I built random things. Major fun though because at that time television had not yet killed my imagination. But I was more of a Playmobil kid. I had/have shitloads of that stuff.

Lego is the coolest shit ever. I wish they brought back the old sets, or I wish I could find a site with pictures of the old sets.

I wanna get a Lego kit now

But YOU CAN!! There was a website I visited that had LEGO instructions online, and you could search by set number!! Come on people help me find it!

You know how my room looked before I cleaned it? Well, imagine that, but with Legos instead, and you'll know how my room looked when I was 4-9. I still used to play with Legos with a mate of mine not much more than a year ago. God, we had so much fun building off our own minds (Some really good stuff, too, it looked like something you'd buy ) Huge monster-trucks with the biggest sets of wheels Lego could supply, and complete racing teams for them, too. We'd jump them with home-made ramps and stuff... Good times, good times. All that stuff is still intact, shoved under his bed

Oh, and I still have dad's 40 years old lego's in Pietasaari. A train, powered by four C-cell batteries, and tons and tons of track. We dug it up about six years ago. It was actually still a little power left in those aging (35 years old) batteries. Enough to power the light for 20 seconds

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
