LOL at that last pic!
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Looks, ehm.... interesting.... Oh do I see an external SLi connector there? hax... so it is basically SLi with one PCI-e connector...
Yeah...no kidding eh? That's the whole point. Notice the "GX2"...

Basically it allows QUAD-SLi with only two PCIe. It failed horribly last time, and probably will this time too.

you didn't get my point... I was wondering why they used external SLi connector....

Because you can't use internal ones.

So that you can run two of these...?

I just get the feeling they got in hurry and did it cheap way slapping two GTS cards together with a flexible sli connector... probably horrible to make drivers for... which is the main problem with this kind of cards.

Whats the big deal with that?

They need the SLi bridge for SLi, how else are they going to do it?

my point is it might have been smarter to use just the bridge chip. (faster connection between the GPUs). like the HD 3870 X2.

Oh....I get what you're saying now. The SLi bridge there is for the two cards  within the one card. Yeah I see what you're saying now.

notice that those are two different PCBs. GX2 is two PCBs slapped together and a cooler between them.

I don't know if anyone else is getting the same problem as me, but it says that the bandwidth has been exceeded for those photos so they don't display right.
