I liked basic derivatives...they make so much sense.

But that sounds good, BC being less trig oriented. I like trig as trig, but not just using trig functions in Calculus.
don't worry, trig is not a big part of calculus, because it only appears in the context of wave motion and electromagnetism.

thank god I chose chemical engineering, we never use trig.

indeed, its awesome that stuff actually makes sense and works at the same time.

I haven't learned the wave motion stuff yet. I'll assume that is still coming.

But I think I am going into aerospace engineering, so I'm not sure I'll get off scot-free with trig like you.

physics 212, not calculus as much...

aerospace should be mostly trig free

That sounds good, thanks.

i'm looking heavily at civil, which hopefully won't be too trig oriented.

my other choice is computer engineering, which just may break my back .

god dammit...where the fuck is my pencil?

i have to find the area under two curves! curse you gods of math!

I think computer engineering would be much more interesting than civil engineering, to be honest.

Are you in AB or BC right now yourself?

i've been in love with civil engineering since i was ten though, and tbh i need to do more research into computer before i make a decision.

AB for me.

Do you need help with the problem?

....and by the way...AP calc AB ftw.
High five!

AB > BC
Fo sho! I have the same teacher as BC and we do the same work really, just a lot less problems and we don't cover as much (AB = 1/2 college calc, BC = 2/3)

Are you having trouble with integrating or what?

apparently, you have to actually draw out the triangle to find the tan(sec-1(x/4)), which does include the radical that I was confused by, and that would be the last step, we were close guys.

nobody in the class got the question right, but the TA isn't going to grade any of the sec3x problems, because it wasn't covered in class.
