Just got a G5 and love it for COD4 and it works great but...

BF2 rarely recognizes the front thumb button, and the right/left on the scroll? I have reinstalled the software etc but can't get any consistency.
It will work sometimes but not all?

Using Vista Premium

Has anyone had this problem?  If this is a repeat, sorry I did search.

Have you tried using it without the software?

there are some programs that cannot recognize that button for whatever reason. ventrilo will, but teamspeak wont (yet another reason vent wins). i have not tried using it for bf2 or any other games for that matter.

I had this problem a while ago, since I'm not on windows I can't post a screenshot of what I'm referring to but here goes:

1: Logitech software mouse settings.
2: Button assignments.
3: Set the side keys as Logical Buttons, or Standard Button, something along those lines. It'll mention key or button and no real special function.

That may have fixed it, if not it may just be a quirk with BF2.

The word you're looking for was generic button I think.

I had to set it to generic to get Teamspeak to recognise it, but then I just uninstalled the software. Does the same thing.

Another very viable option. Come to think of it, it's been a long time since I bothered with custom DPIs and the mouse software isn't really worth the memory it consumes if you're not doing any of that.

I just bought the G5 myself and had the same problem.  SetPoint was messed up in BF2 and would default to 3 basic resolutions instead of the 5 I had programmed.  The "forward" thumb button (MOUSE 4, btw) was unrecognized in BF2 and would reset my DPI to lowest... I uninstalled SetPoint and the mouse works fine with all buttons in BF2 now (haven't tried tilt wheel though).  Will possibly try to reinstall, but 400/800/2000 is about the only ones I need anyway (default no driver rez's).  Thinking about returning it for the Lachesis though for higher DPI... Will see how it goes.
