Does it stop after a quick restart or do you need the pc off for awhile?
If it goes after a quick reboot it could just be a ram problem. Otherwise you are overheating your gfx. Feeling the card is no indication of how hot it really is.

Drivers?
Update your graphics card drivers?
Your video card should be hot if its in a game. Perhaps the heatsink has lost contact.
Underclock.

My state was founded by Batman. Your opinion is invalid.
What game is that?
Speed fan checks everything out. Doesn't say anything is too hot. When it happened the first time i just quit the game and joined another and it worked fine. Then it did it 4 hours later.
Looks like Halo or Halo 2 PC.Ryan wrote:

Btw when i first OC'd it it was working just fine no hicups no artifacting or anything. Now its just starting to do this. It's only happened twice so it may go away. HOPEFULLY (NOT)
Judging by the HUD and Pistol, It's "Halo - Combat Evolved", for the PC.Poseidon wrote:

Small hourglass island
Always raining and foggy

That is artifacting, caused from an over heating or unstable graphics card. Get your full load temps with speed fan or whatever, and try returning to stock clocks.
Does it happen with any other game?
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
If it was artifacting, why would it only show up on the 2d text?
Tried reinstalling and repatching?

Look at the second picture, around the top and middle. The foreground of an environment and a banshee are pretty effed up. That is not 2d text.aimless wrote:

I'm a Halo PC/Xbox fan and i've never seen that before... it's got to be hardware/driver related.
How long ago did you overclock before this happened? You could try running astress test to see if that point to anything specific..

Artifacts can affect anything on your screen... it's not limited to complex textures...aimless wrote:

I've had artifacts where my gun would turn purple but NOTHING else would be affected.
