What's your strategy on awards?
I see a lot of people who have much, much more points than me,yet they only have basic awards and only the 2 "time in service" ribbons.

Do you always play your favorite role or do you look at your stats and choose your class depending on their timestats?
I need 5 hours for my supplyguy now so I can get the veteran badges for this class, and I've only played the anti-tank-guy for 3 and a half hours,so this is going to be a real pain in the ass...

So,do you just play and see what you get or do you plan ahead towards your awards?

Now don't laugh . I play purely for fun, I switch kits to suit the role or what the team needs most. If it happens that I get the odd award for 'time served' or 'job done', I'm more than happy.... (You only need to look at my hours played to see that.). I don't know how many hours you've played, but awards will come to you eventually, quicker if you play the appropriate kit v time.

I have a whole string of basic badges... I would like to see them turn silver or gold, but I'm not going to make it my goal in life... eventually I'll get them, but like I said earlier, I play for fun and play the role we need at the time

I used to play medic. And Only medic. But that gets rather boring so I decided to go after some awards. Now that I have almost everything Veteran im gonna start on my Engineer Veteran (thats the only I still need).
So yeh I just play and aim for those awards.

I got every single badge by 180 hrs, and every last kit has been silver for ages since all it takes is 15 hours each.  As long as you don't whore one kit the entire time you play it isn't extremely difficult.  It is the ordinance badge and stuff that is difficult sometimes.

The ribbons I haven't found to be very difficult except the armour...you really have to find a low player server on a high player map to be able to get them.  I can't tell you how many rounds I've had over 19 armour kills only for the round to end after 15 minutes...it's hard.

Just play as normal and keep checking your awards section on your bf2s page pretty often, If you see one that you are close to getting/likely to get  then go for it.
Dont make your game a chore though, just enjoy it.

I like getting awards. I have everything that I can possibly have according to time specs, except the Aviator ribbon and the armor ribbon. Just balance out your time so u get can vet and expert baadges all around the same time.(Not including SF)

Hmm,impressive.
But you should also have the marksman infantry medal, you have all the veteran infantry and 500 global hours,so you just need to play for 34 (!) minutes in one round.....

I have to work on my Antitank and Support veteran combat badges, then I'm gonna make my knife badge silver and then I'll just play and play till I get the 500 global hours down,so I'm aiming to get the marksman infantry medal as well...and yeah, the "impossible" C4/AT-mine/Claymore-task,which is impossible with tk-punishing idiotdrivers....

I generally just focus on one kit to veteran-ize. Otherwise I just play the matches normally and not worry about it. If the oppurunity to get a ribbon/badge arises though I'll take it.

Personally I do the following, I want to get time for other kits for example support but I don't like that kit much so what I do is, on maps I know that I fly jets / choppers or drive tanks and so on, I put a kit that I want to get time on, same if I use commaner, but if I'm on karkand it's a lot of foot work so I use medic / spec ops etc

I just have a few more hours til Expert Sniper, then I can get my sharpshooter.  I'll probably just play medic/spec ops only now.

I don't care about awards anymore. After trying for the 13th time to get the Expert Knife badge I gave up. Man, 18 kills with a knife is over kill. It's too annoying to dedicate the round trying to get awards. I just play the game and i sometimes get an award. Yesterday I got the Aerial Service Ribbon and I had no intention to get it yet.
