Noob Q - can't figure out the scoring....

I've been playing for several hours and am still confused on the score keeping...

For instance...I'll be MEC and my side will be kicking bootie on the tickets and the number of flags...but then the came suddenly ends and the USMC has won like 140-0....

What am I missing?

If a person dies without being revived, your team loses one ticket.

More medic whoring (or, conversely, killing) will remedy that.

You may be reading the tickets the wrong way round, If your MEC your tickets will be on the right....Have a look at the number just before the round ends, it wont just suddenly turn around to 140-0...that's all I can think of.

49 tickets left for US, 0 for the OpFor...0 reinforcements left so noone else can spawn after they are all dead.

Also your team could be ahead on tickets, but if they lose all the flags and everyone dies, your tickets will drop to 0 and the round ends.

This is probably what it was?

Each ticket represents one time that a person has "died". When your relivable you count as critically wounded not dead, so its pretty much the same as 1 respawn.

Tickets will also go down slightly faster if the other team holds more capture points (Depends on map I belive)

If all members of a team are dead, and there is no place left to spawn you loose all your tickets.

The end round score is how many tickets remaining, The more tickets your team has the better your team did killing them and holding flags.

Only when the round is timed and ends before the game normally would will both team have more then 0.

dont forget ticket drain, on some maps the more flags you have the faster the tickets go down (on the other team), hence, the blue and the red boxes underneath the minimap

I just though of this.
Your team may have been kicking .."bootie"...but your team may have been doing so as a last effort. the score could have been like 160 to 20 for example and your team tries to fight back with a last push but in the end you lose.

each team begins the round with a set number of tickets,100,200,or 300 depending on the size of the map.every time somebody on your team is killed and isn't revived,your team loses one ticket.in addition,if one team holds a majority of the flags,the other team "bleeds" tickets(indicated by a blinking ticket number),and will lose them at a steady rate until they capture enough flags to equal the other team or overtake them for the majority.this means you can still lose even if you are "kicking bootie" unless you are killing the enemy team at a god-like rate.

Well....if you need an explanation, here it is.

My friend has BF2 and showed it to me at his house...it turned me, on but my old system couldn't handle the specs. BF2 was a big impetus in my need and desire to build a current machine.

Anyway...I signed up at BF2S a while ago just to be part of the community (and maybe post if I needed) but really wasn't playing at the time....

Meanwhile, I purchased and built a new system (see sig) that I just got working a few weeks ago...(took me forever to get a video card that I really wanted; waited and waited...thank God for the G92 as I WAS going to lay down for a 5 Benjamin GTX).

So there you have it....

BTW, the lightbulb FINALLY turned on with the scoring thing....for some reason I thought USMC was ALWAYS blue and the bad guys are ALWAYS red when in fact, I'M ALWAYS BLUE and the bad guys (whether USMC or not) are always red

....this post helped a lot, thanks everyone.

lol, ya. my story is a bit similar, i first saw bf2 on my roommates computer, so i played a bit, was terrible btw, and when my shitty dell laptop died i replaced it with a gaming worthy computer and bought bf2.

as i recall, in bf vietnam, red=VC and blue=US. but bf2 shows u a flag next to the color, so if u had looked for more than half a second u could have figured it out . but im not positive about the bfv thing, ive only played it a couple times.

Thanks for the reply marinejauana....I've lots of dumb noob little questions about stuff....

I'm too afraid to post 'em up as everyone will say "google is my friend" or search or rtfm or read the stickeys....which I have, but man there seems to be quite a bit to BF2.

Just need to play more thinks I....hard to do with a full time job, wife/3 young kids and a college course...

I'm enjoying it though. Already a Corporal...
