i want some speakers for my new rig ......the room is bout 8ft x 6ft in area and i have the onboard sound on my abit ip35 pro mobo to utilise my sound (with optical output)....ill be watchin films, playing games and listening to music.

Bearing in mind these factors...which speakers do i buy out of the following....im an audiophile...and love my tunes....i want something that will impress me regardless of its input (i.e. my onboard 5.1 sound). I would prefer to spend alot less than 200 hundred but if the examples below are any good ill push to tht limit ..

so question is do i buy;

1) http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/home-entert … ;lang=null

2) http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speak … p;cl=GB,en

3) http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speak … p;cl=GB,en

4) http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gamin … p;cl=gb,en

karma to all who help

BOSE know there stuff when it comes to sound and I have heard those speakers in action and was taken away with them.
What ever you get make sure you have a top sounds card for its full power.

If surround sound is not a must then BOSE (2.1), being you're mid-range I would be very happy with those speakers.

ive heard the companion ...and yh regardless of the fact its a 2.1 system ... the sound enginerin tht goes into tht box ..is redonculous...is loud for such a small set as well .......

but for games an such i dont know ...fact is i really cant be arsed to go out and buy a sound card just yet....i want speakers tht can take several inputs at once for multiple devices....

tv...xbox...pc etc

it will sound good with onboard audio but even better with an x-fi. You should get one of the x-fi series.

Option 3. All the way.

Or, the Z-5400s. Equally good (and nicer looking I think) for less money - but 330W (still deafeningly loud) instead of 500W. If you're using onboard sound these would be especially good since you can use digital interconnects and the external decoder and you will get equal quality audio to that from an X-Fi.

Hmm might get these (Z-5400)

Had the Z-5500 and they broke, got replaced and new ones broke aswell. Its a common fault apparently.

those. 70 bucks and great quality. Not surround, but... yeah... great quality. I use them for making music, listening to music, playing games. They're great.

I have the logitech X-540. Haven't had a problem with them. Very good sound quality IMO.
