In a Kitchen..

Like, an actual restaurant..

Even if you are dishwashing, they usually pay very good, and most kitchen staff get part of the tip pool, so you could potentially earn an extra dollar or two for every hour of work..

I work at a restaurant and I earn 2+ dollars more per hour then most of my friends (that may not seem a lot to the older folks, but to the younger ones, that's a lot of money..) Not to mention you learn life skills (cooking) that you'll use in the future..

Hmmm, that may be good too. Since I'm good with electronics.
Kickass idea.
I'd love to work at Circuit City/Best Buy.
Working the floors.
Selling to people.
Ooh, don't think you could Mitch. What if you are approached by a black person? Or someone asking where the Christian rock CDs are?

LT.Vic is through, so I don't think he would know anything about golden corral or Texas Road House.

Never been to any of those..

But a restuarant where you would take off your hat, dress up, and tip the waiter generously will work..

The fancier the better..  It can be stressful work, but it pays.

Best Buy or CC  pay pretty good (at least here they do), and its more relaxing then a kitchen job, thats for sure..

I have a few friends that work at the one in my city..

But you really have to be a people person.. So if your the shy type, it's not gonna work..

I worked fast food for a year and some when I was in high school. It sucks terribly, but it makes you appreciate what little money you earn, and also makes you really appreciate any jobs you get after that. Plus it's a good experience, has its ups and downs, but you actually learn a lot and experience a lot.

I'd go with Best Buy to be honest..

Your only gonna have the job for a year or two if you even decide to stay that long.. Earn some money, learn some people skills.. And then quit and start a real career..

Circuit City.

They allow jobs at 16. It's where I'm working in less than 2 months.
I hate their customer service. Sheesh... it's godawful.
The fact they hire 16 year olds probably explains that, wouldn't you think?
The 16 year olds on this site are likely far more well-versed in technology (especially games) than the usual salesmen you see.
