Basically I got the the above text in an email, I know it's not really an insight into what exactly happened, but thats all I got.
I was wondering if anyone knows of what could have caused this or how it can be redeemed.
It's a pretty new laptop so I believe it's vista, if knowing that helps.

lol for some reason i wouldn't be surprised if she did put the cd in upside down, i've sent an email back asking stuff like

"does the laptop recognize the drive?"

and

"did the dvd work?"

but i wont be getting a reply till the morn

1.  Is computer turned on?
2.  Is it a DVD disc?
3.  Is DVD upside down?
4.  Is it a CD-ROM drive?

Just something simple you could try:

My laptop doesnt recognise new cd's I put in if I press the cd drive open button...(whatever its called).

But when I eject the cd via "computer" and I put in a different cd is does recognise it

try to eject, maybe it will work??
