about an hour and a half ago, i heard what sounded like every siren in the city going off.
six dead as of now....two cops, one mayor.
i live about a mile and half from where it happened, and let me tell you, they pretty much shut everything down.
this is prime suburbia, and heads are going to roll.

my condolences to the victims and thier families......

i find my solice in knowing that things may have been different if someone like me were attending that meeting.

there was one here in Chicago suburbs too a guy walked into the womens store killed 5 women and they still havent found him.

Authorities are still hunting for the gunman, who they say wore a knit cap pulled over thick braided hair during the rampage. This for the Chicago shooting though.

ya, the mayor is alive....sorry, the news is going nuts here.....first they confirm something, then they backup saying it wasnt confirmed.

they keep asking on the news if they will have to install metal detectors at every government building......stupid me, i thought that was the case already....now im asking why the hell they werent there in the first place. every day i walked my happy ass into highschool, i walked through one.

but the area this happened in, Kirkwood....its known for being a REALLY nice place....like a leave it to beaver type neighborhood.

matter of fact, the first cop that had ever been killed on that police force was in 2005, if im not mistaken....out of 150 years.

anyway, im thinkin i might go rob a bank.....EVERY cop is there

An official statement was just released. Six dead, two wounded. Two officers, three counsel members, and the shooter are dead. Two other people in the building that were shot are in the hospital right now. My condolences go out to the family members of the victims.

He didn't exactly say what they did to him though, It could've been something really petty/ordinary.

and I also remember hearing about a Mall shooting where about 5 women were killed and the guy managed to escape, can't find a story on that.

I don't know what point I'm trying to make, but it seems that these types of things are becoming abit more common over there.

you know, im a citizen in this city, and i worry for my safety enough to carry a firearm MOST places i go.
as a government official, i would think that you would have MORE of a reason to carry than the average citizen.
yes, we have issues with firearms in this country, but im glad i can protect myself if need be.

now, for a little background on what i think is going down:
as i said before, Kirkwood is really small, quaint little place where NOTHING ever happens......except for this little corner of kirkwood. its called Meachum Park, and its a mini ghetto. when i was younger, we used to have a lot of problems with people coming to where i lived (crestwood), and robbing cars, breaking into houses, dope etc.
kirkwood saw that this was happening, and literally started to tear down that little ghetto....now there is a wal-mart, lowes, target, sams, hardees etc, where that place used to be. there is a handful of houses that are still in that area, and they still want to live there.
what i do know, is missouri has some really fucked up imminent domain laws, and a lot of people are upset about that. i also read that he ran a construction company.
kirkwood is also in conflict right now deciding on whether or not the old houses should be saved, or torn down to build new ones.

i would bet money that whatever happened, had something to do with those two issues.

i drove down there this morning to pay my respects.
i have no more love for cops than i do for anyone else, but when i was there i was overcome with the thought of how many families were destroyed last night.
it really is a sad deal.
oh, and my mom called me, and it turns out shes friends with that mayor......
