I dont know, probably about the same.  Too bad these crazy people are taking out useful people to society, too bad they couldnt go ballistic on a bunch of illegal aliens.

Criminal violence is a serious problem.  We should figure out ways to deal with the causes, not just specific circumstances and tools.   Much of the gun crime in the US is also among gangs...but half of them can't shoot straight.

I doubt shootings in general are on the rise.   But it's happening in more unexpected places.   Gang related shooting is always common, it's the way they do things.  But in schools? Government buildings?   People are getting fucking nuts anymore.   Something is just wrong here.

Erm....if you want someone dead, it does not matter what you use.  Wars were fought with rocks and arrows and people still died.  If there were no guns at all in the US, this chick would have stabbed or found some other way to kill.

Frankly, I'd rather be shot through than be hacked up with a machete.  In African countries where guns are confiscated, there's edge blade warfare instead.  Look at all the hack job slaughter that has been happening there..Rwanda and Darfur to name a few.



On topic, I have only one thing to say; "An armed population is a polite population."  Had conceal carry been allowed, the shooter may have chosen a different plan altogether knowing she might not succeed..this is not even mentioning that she may have been thwarted in her attempt by a conscientious legal weapon carrier.
