Shhh, it makes everyone on the home front think we're learning from our mistakes.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:
dont be naive, we've had manuals like these for ever. Particularly in my current MOS. Im sitting here looking at the one I was issued for my Iraq deployment. 4 years ago.
37F (PSYOP) closest thing to 11B in the reserves. They say its one of the hardest schools in terms of course material. Second to SF medic. I dont know about that though, there was a lot of shit we had to study, but 18D, those guys have to shoot a mule in the head and keep it alive in order to pass the course.yuckfou09 wrote:

it was actually laced with poison
I joined as an 11X (meaning Infantry- no commitment) After OSUT I went to Mike school to become an 11M (Bradleys, fuck yeah) and then, sometime in 2002, two years after I enlisted, they merged all infantry MOS's (used to be four - 11B, 11M, 11C and 11H) into just 11B and 11C. So from being 11M, I became 11B but my role remained the same. At the time I was an AR (saw gunner) and AA (anti-armor Dragon, we didnt get the javelin until right before Iraq, sometime in 03)yuckfou09 wrote:

Im no 19 series but I was in the Cav. 1st Cav Div. But moreso, I was GarryOwen. 7 Cavalry, 2nd Battalion. At the time the only grunts in the Custers regiments. Everyone else was combined arms or just straight tanks. We were the only battalion out of four that used the actual "Battalion" designation, instead of Squadron in the Cavalry unit. We called our Companies "Companies" instead of "troop". So I was Cavalry, but Infantryman type. I get to wear the stetson because I served in war as a Cav trooper.
After Iraq, I etsed and got back in a year later. Chose PSYOP because I remember tossing out soccer balls with them to Iraqi kids when I was in Baghdad. Which means if I end up deploying again, I get to go outside the wire.
You dirty cannon cocker
oh yeah, PT was 2 hours long as well, not including the 15 minutes prior to the 15 minutes prior to the 15 minutes prior.

I used to say "Hairy Groin" instead of "Garryowen" whenever I saw a butter bar. Never got caught.
