I had this problem when it boots up, between the BIOS and before windows boots. Althought Windows boots fine, what could be the problem this message appears? Previously, i hadnt had this message.
Go to start -> run -> then type in msconfig -> go to the boot.ini tab. Is the text field blank?
Hmm theres only System.ini and WIN.ini..
What version of windows are you using?
That's only in Vista.{M5}Sniper3 wrote:

Right click "My Computer" and go to Properties, then Advanced Tab, then Startup and Recovery, then click the Edit button next to "To edit the startup options file manually, click Edit"
This will show you the boot.ini
Gee ok they said, boot.ini cannot be open.. Hmm why is it like that? I remembered I was hit by a trojan horse a few days ago but healed it.
Really now, I must be magical because I just did it in XP.CrazeD wrote:

This is another way. The code should look like this if your using XP Pro:Right click "My Computer" and go to Properties, then Advanced Tab, then Startup and Recovery, then click the Edit button next to "To edit the startup options file manually, click Edit"
This will show you the boot.ini
Code:
[boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
Looks like the trojan corrupted your start-up files.Ayumiz wrote:

Again: What version of windows are you using?

XP pro SP 2.
If you have a windows disk try this. This seems to be your only option since you can't open boot.ini while windows is operating.
Guess I'm blind then....circle it for me:{M5}Sniper3 wrote:

EDIT: By the way, the code you posted may not work depending on his drive configuration.

Try the windows disk thingy though, I can't think of anything else either.
