Well it's exactly the same as the G5, but it's wireless, and I don't like alot of cables going all over the place. I haven't used a G9 or lachesis before so I can't compare, but I'm just saying I love every aspect of the G7 and have had no problems with it.
aight thanks man, I see where you're coming from on that, but i can't have batteries dieing on me in the middle of the round
That's the great thing about the G7, you allways have one being used and one charging, you just swap 'em.

And I only need to swap them every few days, it just takes 2 seconds. I've never died becuase of it.
i can see how that would be nice

I have the Lachesis and I really love it. 9 buttons. Macros. 32 DPI settings to choose from ranging from 125 to 4000. 1ms response time. Plus it lights up, and who doesn't like that? (and if you don't you can turn the lights off)

Also there's a crapload of settings in the device drivers, like separate X and Y sensitivities.

Edit: it seems nobody has posted a picture of the Lachesis so here

No I've never used a G9, cause I'm not that rich to buy 2 high end mice

Also I think the G9 is butt ugly.

If you're going to get a G anything, make it a G5 rev 2. It is absolute perfection and the G9s shape fucks that up.

i have the lachesis.  only negative is that the side buttons are a bit hard to push - they require effort.  i remapped the thumb button to 'sprint' in bf2 so i use it quite frequently.  previously i had the logitech MX1000 wireless mouse which was very nice but big.  switching over took some getting used to.  the lachesis does have the cool pulsing blue light and of course the on-the-fly sensitivity adjuster buttons.  these i actually have used when playing sniper or in armor sometimes.

lachesis is reallllllly slippery.  i have the razer exact-mat surface and i'm just saying that the mouse glides around effortlessly.  my finger is pretty heavy on the trigger sometimes so it's just enough to move the mouse when i depress the fire button which is frustrating when you are sniping or aiming at far off target.

i switched over because i wanted to go back to corded mouse.  cordless mx1000 was ok but the cradle didn't hold the mouse properly and it wouldn't charge right all the time.  i've ran into situations where my mouse just died during the game.  the lachesis wire is not really stiff so it's not a problem - i don't miss the wireless mouse.

i haven't used the g5 nor g9 but undoubtedly they are nice mice.  i recommend lachesis myself if you got 80 bucks to spend on a mouse.  oh...it's ambidextrous as well so any lefty's out there might dig it.

Yes.

Also, the G9 looks painful to hold. I don't think you can beat the shape of the G5/7. I have the G7 and I love it. Simple and awesome.

Then he should go for lachesis. My copperhead has onboard memory and no drivers are needed. You can connect your mouse to any PC and all your settings are stored in the mouse itself.

It honestly seems to be loved by most gamers. It's stable, comfortable and affordable, while being accurate and fast.

Even though the newer ones are better, people still tend to go for the MX518, I believe that is one of the reasons its still being sold by Logitech.
