Honestly, your HS teacher probably doesn't even check the numerous sources people list.  I used to use bunk sources in High school.  Don't try it in college, because there are TAs and such to check that stuff for you.

What is the presentation on?
Haymarket riot

And again I don't think we even need a works cited... he sure as heck didn't mention it in the handout he gave us telling us what to do
What a great topic.  I am thinking I may have written a paper on it when I was in college.
Yeah it's pretty interesting. It's somewhat pathetic really... the section on the rally/riot itself on Wiki is longer than the entire article on Britannica.

Right.  Your teacher is a retard because they said "Don't use Wikipedia"?

Are my physics professors "retards" because they told us not to use Mathematica for our homework?

Why can't you learn traditional research?  It's a skill that is important for any academic task.

Usually, I'll use Wikipedia to get the gist of a subject, then I'll go on with research on the different databases my school subscribes to.

There's a Mathematica?

That's what I do with research papers... not... powerpoints. Seriously, maybe three out of 16 people take notes on these.

edit: So far, 3 slides of info all from my textbook

Even so, it's relatively easy to find information, so long as you have sources. Assuming your school doesn't subscribe to databases (I don't see why not, I go to a public school and we have them), just do what's been recommended by others: Wikipedia, then use the sources at the bottom.

We've got databases... those database designers should take a few cues from Wiki on how to present them though. A Wikipedia but with "reliable" info would be so kickass.

When you use wikipedia, don't rely on 100%, unless it is relatively obscure or a subject that simply is not controversial in any way

an article on the history of elmo would be far less accurate than one on, say, Pope Benedict VII -
however, wikipedia tends to have accurate dates and such, so you if you need battle dates and dates of military promotions and elections etc, you should be fine
