BF2S Forums Wierd graphics error

some thing very similar to this is happening to me as well
except it's the entire screen that goes all wierd and then then freezes on it, so each time i hae to restart
it seems to happen mostly on wake

I got one much worse for you.  Sometimes, (very VERY seldomly - its happened I think twice now) I will spawn and I will have no fog on my map.  The only problem is I cann't move forward, backward, or look side to side - my vision snaps back to center almost instantaneously.  But the good thing is I can be killed while I stand wherver I am helplessly lol

Since we're talking about weird graphics problems I'll post my own problem here as well...
Two weeks ago I formatted my hard drive, after reinstall I took the opportunity to update windows XP to SP2 (I was still working with SP1 before) as well as install the latest drivers for all my hardware, including my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.
Whenever I play BF2 now, I get these strange flashes on my screen for time to time. They usually involve a blue or pink rectangle to very briefly appear in the right down corner (at least thats where the rectangle touches the edges of the screen - sometimes the rectangle is quite large but it never fills up the entire screen). Another glitch is when the map and health/sprint bar flash on and off repeatedly then return to normal in under a second.

I can't take any screenshots of any of this because the glitches appear and disappear so fast, especially the pink and blue ones - they stick around just long enough for the human eye to see.

Think I'm gonna try removing those new drivers and installing the old ones the coming weeks...
