Best people can come up with is, "Hey, your name rhymes with gay, you must be gay!" at which point it's child's play to mock their intelligence.

Short name, easy to get out in frantic situations, can be lengthened to Raymond for more formality. Bad side is "Hey" sounds a lot like "Ray".
