I'm getting a "new" laptop soon, since my uncle is getting a new one this month. I've asked him about what laptop it is, and he only knows that it's a Compaq NX7010, wich is delivered with CPUs from 1.3-2GHz and RAM ranging from 512MB to 2GB. The thing I know for sure, though, is that it's delivered with a Mobility Radeon 9200 graphics card.

It's an ok card, since I won't be using the thing for much gaming, but after some lurking, I found the ATi website stating that it's pin-compatible with just about all mobile AGP cards that ATi have made since. I have, though, failed at finding out if the cards can be replaced, or if they're compatible, but soldered to the motherboard. Have anyone got an idea of this?

I'd like to get my hands on a little better card if it can be done, for obvious reasons.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
