Apologies for not helping out in this thread...noticed the US prices and this is kind of annoying. If it is alright with you, I will do it under a budget of £1200 (because after exchange rates and US > UK price differences it should work at about the same...)

it doesn't fail at gaming...

you just don't see any advantages over a dual core yet. (gaming)

yer...thts wat i mean alpha...sorry ....wat i mean is software isnt advanced enough to fully utilize four cored processors...so in the short term the e8400 is a much better purchase...

long term wise a q6600 will be better....but tbh by the time the software has come out which does utilize the four cored cpu's...the quads will be much cheaper

so yer e8400>q6600 for now

Well considering I've had my current system for almost 4 years, it safe to say I won't be upgrading this one any time soon

Ok, I've decided to go quad core, as this system will be used for other stuff than gaming, like multitasking photoshop, illustrator, and painter. But I can't decide on a case. The 900 looks good, but I want one that has a screwless setup. Thoughts?
